thread my own eyebrows? I'll have to watch the vid...
eta: I just watched the video and she made it look really easy...she had lovely eyebrows...too...thanks for posting. I didn't realize they use plain ol' thread... I thought it was some kind of stretchy thread...

You're going to do it yourself. Ouch!
I love getting my eyebrows threaded but I can't imagine doing it myself.
So... you gonna post pics?

um, no pics. You don't wanna see this, trust me!
It was a hard technique to control which hairs you pull. But the ones you pulled were done very effectively and pretty gently.
Somehow, it hurts less than plucking or waxing. Also, my brow hairs are very fine and the thread picks up ones that tweezers won't. Very cool!
But I"ll leave it to the experts. My shoulders hurt from trying to angle the right way. Poking myself in the eye, pulling my hair in between the thread by accident. Whew!

I'm sure it just takes practice...

I thread mine. Tweezing hurts more IMO. BUT I'm not great at it. I still have to get the tiny hairs with my tweezers otherwise I rub my brows raw.

Hey, can you tell us how you do yours? TIA
Unfortunately, the video is available anymore. :nono:
I'd love to do my own eyebrows; I never even thought about it. Especially since the place I used to frequent I don't like anymore. Besides, I'd love to save my money; and the last chic that did my eyebrows did them way too thin. :wallbash:

The last chick that did my eyebrows did them funny. Each brow looks nice but they don't match each other? crazy...I have a high pointed arch on one and a rounded arch on the other...:ohwell:

I have been trying to learn how to do this, because there are few threaders in South Fulton. I need to learn. Thanks for posting this.

Just make a loop and twist around. Also use 100% cotton quilting thread because it catches the tinies. I also think it hurts less than plucking. Every chance I get, I get them done on Devon in Chicago (6 bucks). Never pay 25 dollars to get them threaded...and I find that Arabs, Africans, Persians, Indians know how to shape them naturally to your features, not giving you that Lucille Ball surprised look for everybody:

To see how the professionals do it:

Now they have little threading booths in malls for about 11 bucks. I live in Pennsylvania but travel to Chicago every now and then. I love getting threaded!!!

Here's another one. She used scotch tape to help in the process. Very good video:

The scotch tape idea is great. I've been threading for about a month now. (Someone that I took a class with showed me how to do it - she had the best eyebrows ever.) I can do to take of stray hairs that grow, but I can't really do any shaping. The scotch tape will help me from making my brows look strange.
This is the best!

Thanks so much for posting this. I tried it and it seems like it takes alot of practice but I think if I keep trying I will get it eventually. Now I can be a full DIY'er...hair, nails and now eyebrows!!!!!

Pretty much the same way as the videos. Scissor method. I have to make a video or do pictures. I thread against the direction of hair growth. It's hard to explain. I don't thread to shape my brows though. Just to clean up above and in the arch. I also thread my mustache! Otherwise I pluck.

Thanks so much for this post. I tried this last night and it works really well. I am sure that the more times I do it the better I will get at it. I do have some advice for anyone who is going to try this, if you are right hand dominate start with your left eye first so you can get the hard to do side out of the way first.

Ok so here is the update - I tried this yesterday and I need some more practice. My eyebrows look pretty good but they are thinner than I'd like. So now I'm trying to grow them out some - although I wanted to grow them out before.
I did have to get out the tweezers and pluck a few hairs I have trouble getting the whole coordination down. I'll keep working on it.
