I was wondering if anyone as had a perm job with make-up. I was thinking of lining my eyes but I want to know if anyone has done it. If so, is it painful or have dangerous side effects?

I haven't tried it. It is basically like putting a tattoo over your eye. I could foresee the potential for adverse reactions. Plus, what if you change your mind down the road?

I have never tried it however i will share that i had a client the other day who was an older lady asking me to cover the permanent eyeliner she had done a few years back..looks like whomever lined her eyes winged them at the outter corners and now it looks a hot mess:nono: all i could do was conceal them but she also wanted some kind of peel that would make them go away and we dont have any chemical that could go that close to her eyes:perplexed
be careful i wouldve gotten my eyebrows done years back however i havent seen any permanent brows that look like real hair strokes just lines:rolleyes:

I get it redone every 3 years. It hurts but it's not unbearable.

If you're truly comfortable with it then go for it. Just keep in mind that certain makeup trends change (eyeliner style for example). Definitely avoid any trendy styles. I don't have permanent makeup, but I had a coworker in the past who looked a HOT MESS because she went overboard. She had the permanent eyebrows, lipliner, and eyeliner on her upper and lower lids. It just wasn't flattering and looked strange. Maybe because she never went back and had the colors touched up. Also her eyebrows looked like someone took a light brown sharpie and just drew them on.

Just please be careful. Sareca's pics look nice..very natural. I guess the trick is finding the right artist and salon to do the work.

I would be hesitant b/c like some other posters said, trends change. A nice shape for eyebrows now will probably not be the same in 10-20 years. I guess if it's subtle like Sareca's eyeliner, then it's okay.

You'd have to be really careful picking an artist, so you don't end up looking clownish. If they make a mistake, it's permanent. :ohwell:

Good point ladies... mine's very subtle but I picked my artist carefully. She'd been doing permanent makeup for 10 years. She also came highly recommended.

Also, it's called permanent makeup because it doesn't wash off but it's far from truly "permanent." It's not like body art tattoos. It depends on your skin but it typically lasts for about 3 years. I tend to go for timeless and classic looks but it's not like you can't change your mind. That first picture was my second time having the same spot tattoo'd. You couldn't see ANY of the original color.

Wow, thanks for all the feed back ladies. I did see a lady in a nail shop that had permanent make-up and she said she hated it. she had her eye brows, cheeks and lips done. I think she also had permanent blue eye shadow on. she looked very dated. I think natural lip color was in and her lips were red. I just want something like Sareca's.

Sareca what town did you have your liner done? How would you reccomend I go about finding a good person in my area? Did you bring in pictures of what you wanted or just tell your artist?
I know I'm asking lots of questions. Sorry.

I have a weird habit of complimenting women I think have done stuff right (clothes, makeup, skincare, hair, etc). I complimented a woman on her eye makeup and she said it was permanent. I was floored. It was perfect. She gave me the artists name (nothing beats word of mouth) I asked around and checked her online reviews. They were all postive ...the rest is history.

I didn't bring pictures with me. I already knew what to call what I wanted. It's called a "lash enhancement." It's not eyeliner it's just making my eyelashes look thicker by lining the upper wet line.

Here are the different styles of liner... http://www.auraofbeauty.info/eyelinerstyles2.html

Print the style guide out and take it with you. :yep:
