I went in for my checkup and my pressure was good. 122 / 80. Doc is putting me on half the norvasc for a week and wants me to check pressure daily. If it remains good, I get to come of that junk.

i'm soo psyched

Yay!!! Did you take magnesium? To what do you attribute your results?

OMG, so many things

Breakfast:
Organic smoothie which consists of
blueberries
strawberries or raspberries
Stevia
Green Vibrance
Coconut oil
Maca powder
Flax Seed Oil
Water, almond milk or coconut milk

When I get to work I take the following vitamins

Taurine 500 mg (The Health specialist at my local organic food market told me most HBB meds have taurine)

L-Lysine 500 mg (http://www.wholefoodscoop.org/common/adam/DisplayMonograph.asp?storeID=7CE9AED4291A4249833F2 893B797892C&DocID=33_000312)

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (http://www.jarrow.com/product/71/NAC_N_Acetyl_L_Cysteine)

SAM-E (S-Adenosyl Methionine) 200mg (http://www.jarrow.com/product/372/SAM_e_200)

Calcium Magnesium - 1000 mg of cal, 500 mg of mag (I only continued using this one to use it up. I'm going to purchase the one you recommended next)

Super Milk Thistle (http://www.enzy.com/go/EnzymaticTherapy/productDetail.aspx?alias=EnzymaticTherapy&tabalias=productDetail&partcode=08106&sc=True)

Woman over 40 daily foods (http://www.affordable-megafood.com/10203.html) -- Now that I've tried this, I'll never use GNC brand again

Green Vibrance in my smoothies (http://www.vibranthealth.org/gv.html)

Lunch

A tub of watermelon. Eating watermelon has been shown to reduce HBB (http://www.articlesbase.com/nutrition-articles/mediterranean-diet-watermelon-can-lower-your-high-blood-pressure-517064.html)

A small pack of seaweed salad

and potato chips :sekret:

Dinner

A reward. Anything my lil heart wants. Sometimes, it's Johnny rockets, other times it's chinese. Whenever i cook, I use organic sea salt.

I have a glass of lemon water with MSM and stevia

I'm working my way to a mostly raw diet...

I exercise at least 4 times a week  I do cardio and strenth training regulalry.

Congratulations DSylla, that's a great accomplishment, that cycle of pill taking is a bummer...magnesium, high magnesium foods, foods calculated to reduce bp levels, water intake, exercise, reduced stress is the way to go:yep:.

thanks ya'll. I check my pressure today at cvs and it was 144/90 :(

but this was before i took my meds and I had a pork filled breakfast:look:

~~

I stopped at the org food store and bought Daily Foods Magnesium. I stocked up on watermelon, seaweed salad and salsa and quacomole. In order to fix hbb, I have to focus on kidneys (says doc). So, I'm will be eating live foods and less meat :(.

I'm sure i'll grow to love it...

keep us posted Mines is 138/93.

I forgot I have HBP occassionally and ate a few pork chops boy did I feel it shortly thereafter, swimming in the head.

I ate some celery, drank some acv water and took a garlic pills. My doctor has not put me on meds, just told me to watch it and if it gets over some certain number to give her a call.

Congrats DSylla

My mother and uncle both suffered from HBP. And they both have been off meds for years and control their pressure by watching what they eat, exercise and reduce stress (I don't know about the stress because they sho like to keep us mess).

Congrats, DSylla on getting that blood pressure under control! It takes strong discipline to rearrange and maintain your food intake each day. You have chosen natural ways to help your body heal, with success. I have had high blood pressure since 97, and still take a daily maxside pill for it. It keeps me in the bathroom because it flushes all the water trough my system. I too, have changed my eating habits, and cut back on starches and salt. This has helped me tremendously. It has also forced me to replace those french fries :lick: with a healthier alternative!!! If I can loose about 20 pounds, then the doctor might consider taking me off the drug, like you. I need to start adding magnesium to my diet too. So glad you're feeling better, stay strong knowing that God is sending you wisdom and knowledge every day thru others to help you heal.

That's great DSylla!
My mother has high blood pressure too and she eats an orange every day as it lowers blood pressure. Maybe you could add this too your excellent diet :D

That is wonderful!!!:yep: I've been trying to convince a relative to change their diet drastically so they don't have to be on medicine for HBP. You're proof that it really works!:yep:

I found this except interesting

Pharmaceutical drugs are right behind salt in contributing to high blood pressure. Pharmaceutical drugs have the same reaction in the body as white table salt. It is very common for people who take numerous drugs to develop high blood pressure. Pharmaceutical drugs are poisonous! They are more poisonous than the drugs classified as "illegal."

Blood pressure was 132 over 97 today.

I bought some garlinase on Nonies recommendation. I'm feeling much better. Like, hopeful...

:)

thanks ya'll

Vev, I could go on and on and on about the side effects I was getting from norvasc (http://askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=20364&name=LOTREL), the hbb medice. I could have written most of those reviews myself.

I'm going to check out that article from dherbs tonight. I was listening to his 40ounce thought early this morning. Very interesting guy :)

thanks for the articles JFemme. When my juicer was working, I used to juice beets all the time.

I'm going back to the basics. My grandma use to always say that beets were good for the blood. and i love chilled beets :lick:

Congrats, D! That's really good news.

You just gave me more ideas to incorporate into my lifestyle to try and get off my meds...I was already taking the L-Lysine for my skin and just started taking the magnesium. I'm hoping my BP will be down next time I visit the Doc in a couple months.

the bottom number is too high. The ideal BP would be 120/80.

Today mines was 140/95 and I am not on meds my Dr. is out of town and I am wondering how high is too high before you cause irrepairable damage?

I did not suggest that it would.

And, anything of 90 for the bottom number is too high.
