View Full Version : Obaji Nu-Derm
Has anyone used Obaji Nu-Derm skin care treatment or knows of someone who has? I'm thinking of getting it although it's expensive but I'm trying to even out my skin tone.

Hi Kia I have used the Obagi nu-derm system, It works well. my actual dermatologist was Susan Obagi, her dad is the maker of the products you can get a generic brand of
retin-A in the form of Tretinoin and a generic 4% hydroquinone cream in place of "Clear" step #3. If you have insurance than your prescription should cost no more than $30 dollars for both Tretinoin and 4% hydroquinone. You can use your own toner, cleanser and sunblock and you would only have to purchase steps4,5,and 6 which you can get cheaper than at a doctor's office if you go to skintrigue.com that should save you about 100 dollars. your skin will initially look bad before it starts to get clearer. I have to re-order a few of the products.

Hey CICI. Thanks for the info.
Just so I know I have this correct ....
step 1: Any cleanser
step 2: any toner
step 3: hydroquinone (doesn't have to be the Clear)
step 4: Exfoderm
step 5: Sunfade
evening:
1-3 (same as above)
4.Tretinoin
5: Blender
Is this right? Thanks for your help /forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif

Yeah that's right, but don't forget your sunblock even though it's not really sunny out, still wear it to make sure you get the best results. the hydroquinone product has to be 4% which is prescription strength. So ask your Doctor for a prescription of Tretinoin and 4% hydroquinone the other 3 products you can get from Skintrigue.com!!
Thank you so much CICI. I'll let you know how it turns out /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have used Obagi for over 3 yrs and I'm on maintenance now. It's one of the best things I ever did for my skin. Like Cici24 said, your skin will look bad initially but that phase will pass. I also got microdermabrasions every other month to speed up the treatments. Obagi cleared up my skin discolorations and my skin tone is almost perfect. You won't be sorry you tried Obagi!
