No more makeup!

This article (http://fabulousfinancials.com/2008/09/no-more-shopping.html) describes almost precisely how I feel right now. I cleaned out my makeup drawer last night and I was disgusted by how much CRAP I had that I had never used - high end brands, drugstore brands, whatever . . . much of it still tightly packaged. I threw away stuff that I had opened and used so long ago that it was no longer hygenic to keep around. But man, I was ticked overall by just how much STUFF I had . . . and yet, I still rely on the same *staple* products everyday.

So yeah, I'm pretty much done makeup shopping for a good long while (although I still cannot find a good bright red lipstick . . . everything always makes me look like a clown. :ohwell:)

Anyone else got too much makeup?

I cleaned out my closet yesterday and now have 3 bags of clothes to donate and 2 bags going to the trash.

I am just now starting to buy make-up so I really don't have much make-up to look through. I only need to buy/find the right blush and that will be it, I don't want to get carried away!

Do you know that I actually find myself fantasizing about moving some place bigger just so I can house all of my crap! (Not just makeup but books, cds, dvds, clothes, shoes, purses, etc.) Basically I need one big huge CLOSET :D

i just started buying it for REAL for real this summer, and from the BOGO sales on HIP and all the other stuff i have already filled a medium sized drawer with brushes, e/s and stuff. not a good thing.

BUT I WILL NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH! variety is the spice of life!

I do. I looked at the makeup in my train case and drawers this past weekend. I really do have more than enough. I also find I stick to certain items/combination especially for work. I have enough powder to sink a ship. I am looking for a few specific gloss colors and I think that should be it for a while. I'll only be replacing staple items I run out of or things that spoil. No need to spend anymore money on items I don't use often.

A lot? Yup. :yep: Enough? Nah. :nono: I am like that with everything though. I enjoy being slightly overindulgent from time to time. When I'm at the point where my makeup looks fab 100% of the time and I'm set with staples for everything, I'll slow down. For right now I'm having too much fun trying to figure it out. It's my hobby.

I just cleaned mine out last week. I throw out toothbrushes and mascara after 3 months, everything else after 6-9 months.

YEP!! I have way too much. I've loved make-up since forever and couldn't wait to start wearing it when I turned 16 that has been a few decades ago now and my love has never died.

I worry now about the day when someone tells me I'm too old to wear it like I used to.

I literally have over 60 lip sticks and glosses . I have at least 4-5 glosses in every bag, this weekend I was with a friend that had forgotten her lipstick and I was able to give her 2 new Bobbi Brown glosses that I had not even used. Just today I went to CVS to get a prescription filled and came out with 2 new eyeshadows and a new liner !! I had to argue myself out of buying another mascara , as I have about 6 new ones going right now.

Everytime I make that vow to not buy anymore for a while I see some exciting new shade and off I go to get it.

Whoa is me!! but if loving make-up is wrong , I don't wanna be right!!

I really don't have much so I doubt this'll ever happen. I'm a minimalist. Gimme one of each thing that works and I'm ok.

I have a makeup room. My husband thinks I have too much, but I don't think that that is possible.
