acne sucks! it really does.... I have OILY, ACNE ProNE skin. i have it around my nose,
(I heard that this is called hormonal acne ->)around my mouth and on my chin area, and on my jawline...(<-I heard that this is called hormonal acne )
GRRRR:wallbash: I've had this for the longest time
(2 months). Right now I'm doing the acne.org regime but not using their products. The cleanser I'm using is Purpose facial wash (it feels like its not doing anything but making matters worse), Neutrogena-on-the-spot bp gel, and Dove facial moisturizer.my alternative that i do sometimes is purpose facial wash, qh mint julep mask, noxema triple clean toner, and neutrogena on the spot bp gel. I would SOOOOOO love to get rid of it. One of the causes I found out that it is around my mouth is my lipgloss/chapstick! I was so HEATED. so yea. no moisturized lips here!:lick: If anybody could help that would be great. Please don't recommend the derm. because I've been there already and would just rather buy stuff from the drugstore. nothing expensive. (ex. $50 cream). Also if anybody has any lip care that they could recommend that wont clog my lip line!?
HELP!!!!!!!!! Teenage acne sucks! and i'm only 16. can't wait till this ends. I miss my good smelling lip glosses!

I find that I can get away with using the Oil Cleansing Method for most of the month, but about 10 days period my cycle, I have to toss a acne cleanser in there, up until a few days after it ends. I also try to cut out the sugar, and drink tons of water. I try to do facials 2x a week, also. HTH.

Whats your diet like?
I know everyone's experience is different but I breakout when I eat lots of fried foods, lots of sugars, cookies, breads, and ice cream. And also not enough fruits and veggies and water.
I broke out when I was a teen when I wasnt eating right. It's annoying but you reallly do have to watch what you eat for your skin to look it's best.
Also make sure you change your pillowcases regularly and clean your cell phone cuz that touches your face. Also try not to touch your face a lot.

Couldn't agree with you more. I had to cut out milk too. Try reading Divine's Inspiration Acne Manual, if you haven't already. It's a really helpful sticky, I printed it out.

Yes, I am. I use EVOO, I've wanted to experiment with others but if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I guess. My facial method is getting kinda sloppy since school started back up, but it's basically, cleanse, exfoliate, steam, mask, moisturize, and I usually do them at night. I just bought one of the Olay Microdermabrasion and Peel sets .. so I'm curious about what that's going to be like.

For facial time: Cleanser-EVOO or one of my acne cleansers, I'm still searching for the perfect one but I really like the Neutrogena Stress Control Foam
Exfoliation- EVOO and Sugar, or Baking Soda, occasionally I'll use the St. Ives Apricot if I'm being lazy and it's right there
Mask- Honey, or Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask
Moisturizer- EVOO, but I just bought some Vitamin E Oil I'd like to try

I say ask your parents to book an appointment to see a dermatologist. They got you covered under their insurance right?
If you've tried every bandwagon and diet to help and it still doesnt work then stop wasting money and get a doctor involved.
I love drugs and i LOVE my dermatologist.

Pure tea tree oil. It stinks bad and it's messy. But it works.
I was having pizzafaceitis and it's the only thing that worked. I also got the Basis sensitive skin bar or whatever it's called after people said it's too drying, so I knew it would dry out the pimples. I washed with that twice daily and did the tea tree oil all over in the areas where they were, after it dried I moisturized.

She posted this on the 18th. I bought the tea tree on the 20th probably and my skin was on it's way by the 27th. I'm still using it and working on it, but it's coming along.

Im not a teen anymore before but I've suffered with acne problems since I've been a teen...Really simple is best. Just get a simple kit like the 3 step Acne Free (its the exact same stuff as Proactive ) and make sure youre washing your face twice a day...
Also, I know you dont want to hear this but if you can get a prescription for some Retin A cream (its basically the topical form of Accutane and you dont sound like you need to take the oral verion of Accutane...) and use that if you're really serious about clearing up. Short of Accutane that's really the only thing thats going to work...going around and around with all the different over-the-counter lines is just wasting your money (trust me I KNOW!)....
Good luck (and keep your pillowcases and cell phone face clean! :yep:)!

Hormonal Acne means Hormonal imbalances, which I suffered from
Start taking Flaxseed and Omega 3,6,9, EFA help alot with hormonal acne, also take zinc
Use a face wash with Salicylic acid in it to help keep bacteria at bay
I started using Milk of Magnesia to help shrink spots andf it is working
Get healthy
Stop using diary - I know how hard it is, but it really helped with me
Maybe get a food allergy test, to help determine what you should stay away from
I just bought demalogica anti bac cleanser and micro exfoliant - I heard good reviews from this, hoping to keep on using this (Not cheap) and using a shea butter with coconut oil, cocobutter and olive oil cream after for the acne scars
Hope that helps

that was me. i hated that thing!
why are you so anti-derm? going to the dermatologist was the best thing to happen to my skin (and my wallet)...but whatever you decide, whether it's OCM or proactiv, stick with it...i could have saved so much money and been wayyy less stressed out if i had stuck with the stuff i tried.

Thanks! You posted and someone cosigned it. I got up and went straight to Wal-Mart for it.
Your hatred for it has cleared my skin.

I think it's essential fatty acids ..
It's just capsules, I was going to start the fish and flaxseed oils, I already take evening primrose, it should be fine, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to check with your physician.
