After reading about Surgi Wax Brazilian Wax Kit (on this forum), I decided to go buy some and give it a try myself.

I actually finished a little while ago. It was a breeze, and my underarms are so nice and smooth. Some of you may remember I started getting my underarms waxed in March 2008 (at a spa). I am happy to say that I am now a self waxer. :yay: I must say, it even felt BETTER doing it myself. I mean, it doesn't hurt at the spa, but you know it gives you that slight burn / sting for a few seconds. Well, it didn't do that when I self waxed. :woot: It's a hard wax, and no muslin strips are needed. This is definitely a keeper. I'm happy to join the others who self wax. :yep:

Oooh I need to try this because shaving is giving me razor bumps even with a new razor. I think my skin is just sensitive. Can this be found at Walmart? Does it have to be microwaved or do you just apply?

Yes, it can be found at Walmart (CVS too). Yes, it does have to be microwaved.

Please let me know if you decide to give it a try.

You have done it now Allandra. You know I love getting the underarms waxed. :love2: You have me thinking I can do this myself and save some bucks!! I have to build up the courage to 'make myself' think I can do this.

Hey Tee,

If I can do it, you certainly can do it. It was so easy. I love the fact that it's hard wax and no muslin strips are needed. I didn't get that burn / sting sensation with using this kit. Also, there's a pre-epilation oil that's used prior to applying the wax (which allows the wax to stick to the hairs and not the skin). Girl, you need to check this out. I'm stocking up on this stuff. :yep:

You are too brave. :lachen:I've never had any waxing done but I would like to try this. I'm just afraid I may put the wax on and then be too scared to pull it off. :ohwell:

Aww, don't be scared. Maybe you can find someone else to pull it off for you. This type of wax kit is VERY easy.

Mmmmm, funny you should post this thread. I've been thinking about self-waxing for a long while. Always had nice armpits up until a few years ago. Now they are much darker than the rest of my skin. Doing both the waxing and the lemon thing, it may be corrected. I'll let you know whether I try it.

I love the surgi wax! I have self waxing my 'pits for a few years and it is the best. No shadow, grows slower, feels smoother. I always either sip wine or take an aspirin beforehand. No pain! LOL!

I didn't do either, and it was still cool with me. :yep: IMO, it feels nothing like the 'regular wax and muslin strip'.

I wax my bikini area and this sounds great.

How do you remove the wax and hair without a muslin strip?

When you place the wax on, flick up the edge of wax to remove in the opposite direction. So, you're pulling the wax off (once it's ready) to remove the hair.

I am the same way. The only thing I can shave and not get bumps in my legs. My underarms get them slighty and my coo looks like have something if I tried.

About how much does it cost for the kit?

This is gonna sound kinda silly but do you hold your arms up until it dries? How long does it take to dry?

For those who..um...wax down there :look:....um...do you get in the frog position and how do you know you've...um...gotten everything :look:?

It cost $6.99 at CVS (in MY area). It was less expensive at Walmart, but they were out of stock.

Of course you hold your arm up until it dries. Try flapping them and flying around the house until it dries. j/k

It takes about 30 seconds to dry.
