I've been sooo tired for months. Getting out of the bed and putting on my clothes was a full time job for me. My skin was getting worse, even though I had been eating right and taking supplements. I really felt bad and even 12 hours of sleep wouldnt make me feel refreshed. Turned out, my cortisol levels were dangerously low. I couldnt get a prescription for Cortef to treal my adrenals because not many doctors believe in it. So I ordered a natural product that has a standardized dose of cortisol. Ive been on it for the past 3 weeks and my life has turned around! My skin is dewy and soft, my energy is back. I can work 16 hours in a day, sleep for 7, and still feel great!! Before, I really think that I was developing into a life thretening situation-no everything is soo much better. I also have thyroid problems and Isocort has helped me stablize my adrenals before I can take armour. I feel soo good already, I wonder what will get better once I actually start treating my thyroid.
The product is called Isocort. You can order it online at pureprescriprions.com its about 27 dollars.

What's the product? Where'd did you get it? Did you have to go to the doctor to have your cortisol levels checked? If so, what tests did you ask for? I had a chiropractor/alternative medicine practitioner tell me he thought I had problems with my adrenals. However, the price he was quoting me to be treated was horrendous, especially when my health insurance wouldn't cover it. But I have been feeling so tired lately, I have been thinking about going back to him.

There are tests you can order at canaryclub.com, but I read up on cortisol and the symptoms and self diagnosed. I already have a thyroid problem and if you have one of those problems, you do have an issue with the other. How did he offer to treat you and how much?
Isocort is an organic and safe form of Cortef, the prescription drug. Start by taking 2 a day and builld up. You should notice a big difference after 3 days and it just gets better every day. Read some of the reviews on the website.

He offered to treat me by:
1. giving me supplements that are only sold to medical practitioners,
2. having me come see him three times a week, then two times a week, then one time a week (at about $80 per visit), and
3. ordering me tests for me that were about $300 each.
I had no problem with the supplements, in fact, I did notice a difference in how I felt when took the supplements. (I purchased the suggested supplements during my first office visit.)
If I had completed everything he suggested, I would have paid about $2500 out-of-pocket. And all of this was to be done over a (I think) 3 month period. Oh yeah, he also wanted me to purchase some book (for $30) about cleaning my liver. Did I mention that this book was not available at Amazon.com?
I really didn't have a problem with the supplements and the amounts he charged for them. I did, however have issue with the amount of office visits for which he wanted me to pay. The visits made up the majority of the costs! In my opinion, seeing him once a week or once every two weeks should have been plenty!!!
I'll research the information on canaryclub.com.
Thanks for the info.

What was the name of the book, do you remember? My doctor who is an MD AND naturopathic Dr., had me do a liver cleanse. He adapted it for me, but it was a serious cleanse ... you pass stones. I took pictures  .
I'm finishing my second cleanse today.

sounds like he was trying to package everything so he could get a nice check. not saying his program may not work, but you can self treat yourself with less trouble and money. have you been to stopthethyroidmadness.com? it has a section devoted to adrenals and there is also a yahoo group that you can join.

I don't remember the name of the book off the top of my head. But I do have the information somewhere (I rarely throw things away) since the doctor gave me a folder full of information. I'll look for the folder this weekend and when I find it I will let you know the name of the book. I do remember the doctor who wrote it had a web site for the book. I'll keep you posted.

I haven't looked at stopthethyroidmadness.com yet but I will. I agree with you, I probably can treat myself with less trouble and money. I was taking iron supplements because I was feeling tired all the time. After eating/chewing ice (something I never do) at work one day, I researched the 'net and found this behavior, in addition to another I had (fibroids), could have been a sign of anemia. Now after years of taking iron supplements, I learn that I may be adversely affecting my liver. So I am now hesitant to self diagnose. But, the same thing could happen under the care of a doctor.
I'll research the sites you cited and I'll let you know how everything turns out.
The chiropractor also said he thought I had parasites, which I don't totally disagree with and which could also be a cause of my fatigue. But after reading the posts on this site about the health food supplement, Parastroy, I am too chicken to do something about that right now.
Thanks again.

This is interesting. I've always read that most people's issue is too MUCH cortisol not too little. Wow.
