I've been trying to lose weight ever since April when I sent to the clinic and was shocked to discover that I was 85kg 186 lbs, I was 77 in August 2007 so that was an extra 8kg 8 months!! :perplexed

Ok, so since then I have really been trying to do something about it, I want to get to about 150lbs, I've been doing Turbo Jam Monday to Friday, I've been eating good, I really cut down on my cakes and sugary stuff, but I hadn't noticed any difference, my SO took a photo so I could compare and 2 weeks later we done another one and I was actually bigger!!! At one point I was doing Turbo Jam twice a day (45 mins AM 20 mins PM), I also done low carbs for about 2 weeks and still nothing!!! I was going to do that diet high protein/low carbs where you eat every 2-3 hours but it wasn't for me, I could realistically weight my food and be that rigid.

I have slacked off recently not on my healthy eating but with the exercise, I haven't exercised properly for about 2 weeks.

I'm really stuck I don't know what to do, HELP!!!! I am still at .....85kg!!!! :wallbash:

My Typical daily diet is:

Breakfast:
All Bran with semi skimmed milk and honey
Juice or green tea or normal tea or coffee

Lunch
2 pieces of Peppered Mackerel :lick:
1 avocado
1 tomatoe
Dressed with olive oil and lemon juice
Water
some fruit, usually cherries

Snack
yoghurt or a starbucks apple and cinnamon muffin and some tea

Dinner
Chicken or fish or something
with brown rice
salad or veg

Tea or hot chocolate and a 3 biscuits

It's great that you've given us a sample meal plan. I'd recommend getting more veggies and fruit into your day. There are also little things you're eating that could be sabotaging your progress. That cinnamon muffin can pack up 600 calories, so I'd eliminate that and just stick to fruit or raw veggies w/ hummus. The 3 biscuits (are these cookies) are also a no-no when trying to lose weight. Cut back to one and eat it with some apple sauce (no sugar added). I'd also watch the yogurt as the sugar content can be quite high.
Maybe you could join the 30 day clean eating challenge that Mona Rae started. You can check out the thread for more info. The cleaner you eat, the more progress you will see. HTH!

you definitely want to augment your new healthy eating habits with exercise. the type of exercise you do also plays a huuuuuge part so be sure you're getting all the cardio you need.

also, are you drinking all the water you should be? that makes one of the biggest differences. you can chase your meals with papaya enzyme (a fruit extract that helps you digest carbs).

i'll try and find more info for you. keep your head up! :yep:

Ahhh thanks ladies

Yeah I really should totally cut out the treats but I have such a sweet tooth!!

Humm that papya enzyme sounds good I'll look into that, is it a tea or something?

here's some info on it. :yep:

it's fine to have a sweet tooth. you should make a cheat day. eat healthy six days out of the week and maybe on saturday or friday have that cinnamon roll (or whatever it was). setting a cheat day will give you a short-term, easy goal to work towards and it'll taste even better since you earned it.
