I am really out of control with my eating. Today at work we had a House Warming for a co-worker and there was pizza, brownies and sodas :lick: . That one meal ruined whole day.

So after eating some Cheese Puffs and drinking Ginger Ale (like 10 minutes ago ) I decided to try eating clean for 30 days straight. One slip up and the count goes back to day 1. I remember someone doing this before and now its my turn.

To define clean there will be no chips, cookies, cakes, soda, CANDY , breads, chocolate, etc. I will stick with whole grains, legumes, chicken, fish, fruits, lots of veggies and good ole water.

Tomorrow (08.06.08) is day 1. I will check in everyday just to say if it was a success or not. This is something I just got to do to gain control of my health!

I'll do this with you. I eat a lot of processed foods, protein bars, sugar free sodas and treats. This will be a challenge!

I would like to join as well. My start day will be Monday August 11. (I am going out of town this weekend). I was reading up on this all day yesterday, I am interested to see the results. This will be a challenge for me because I don't like to cook:grin:

I would like to join this challenge!

Does fat-free yogurt smoothies count as eating "clean"?

Oh yes! Yogurt is clean in my book and I will be eating it at least once a day. Thanks for joining me ladies. Its nice to think that I can do it in just 30 day but I know this is really going to be a challenge. What I hope to learn in the end is a lifestyle habbit and not "I'm done pass me the chips"

Great challenge MonaRae. I did the same thing a few months ago. Trust me, it's HARD!! I think I made it 14 days 100% clean. I'm training for a marathon right now so nutrition is critical to my performance and it'll also help me lose another 15-20 lbs before the race. So I'm down to start this challenge with you today.

Is splenda allowed? Did I mess up already? :ohwell:

buttafly concerning splenda its out for me as a matter of fact I don't take it at all. Its a chemical substance and if it was me I would avoid it during the challenge. Stevia is a natural and acceptable alternative.

Day 1 and wouldn’t you know the snack cart comes around. The gentleman that totes it always brings me my favorite chips and today I had the strength to JUST SAY NO! Instead I got some cashews and vitamin water. So far do good!

Do you all have websites or helpful tips for this challenge?

if you google michi's ladder that will give you an idea of the types of foods you should be eating. If you eat from the top 2 tiers then you're eating clean.

Thanks. I have that page bookmarked so I just need to go to the store this weekend and I'm set. I have a quick question for you all. Would you say that going clean increased your weight loss each week or did it remain the same? TIA

I'd say eating clean definitely makes an immediate difference in weight loss. If my diet is on point I can lose 2-3 lbs a week. Of course this is in combination with regular exercise.

Day 1 is done! I had a fews dreams of candy and was tempted by the snack cart but I made it thru! I figure if I can just make it thru the first 3 days (which I'm sure are the hardest days) I will be ok. I know there will be challenges after the first 3 days but the first 3 are the hardest.

How did you do? Did you start?

IF the wrong foods are in this house of mines you can can it for me! Last night I had to throw out 2 good bags of chips. I usually have a hard time throwing away food but its easier to throw it away than to lose the pounds it causes in the end. :ohwell:

Started today. Day 1 was good and clean. Fruits, lean protein, some whole grains, and veggies. I need to drink more water though.
