If you're using eye creams stop using them. They are the biggest lie.
Sweet_Nic found that sleeping w/ head elevated on a pillow facing up eliminated puffiness. I also know drinking water during the day and not waiting to gulp gallons at night helps. As does cutting back on salt. I don't know if teabags work, but I believe there's such a remedy: applying teabags to your eyelids (don't know if they have to be cold) to your eyes and lying down. Cucumbers over eyes? *shrug*
Of course there are people who swear by Preparation H. I got rid of mine slowly over time w/ face exercises. But that's not what you want to hear when you've got a close deadline.
Good luck.

No wonder those eye creams never work. I'm not using them anymore :nono: I have horrible bags, and they are very noticeable. I'm thinking they are from allergies or they are hereditary because I use to be able to get good rest and they would go away, now not so much.
Ice reduces the swelling a little for me, and the preparation H works once or twice then it has no effect.
What face exercises do you do?

I do a whole face exercise program by Carolyn Cleaves. www.carolynsfacialfitness.com but my eyes improved from doing the whole program.
I think doing a whole program is better than spot training because the face muscles are attached to bone or to each other and to the skin. So if you only work some and they tone up and pull on others that haven't been toned, you could get an awkward build/development on the face. So while there are some exercises I've done for eyes over the years whenever I was doing one program or other, and I shared them in this thread, I have never just done them by themselves. I just have always done a full program so I don't know what your results would be if you just did eye exercises.
Another program I did--actually it's the one I've done the longest (15 years)--and which I would recommend is Eva Fraser's program www.evafraser.com Eva is the person who taught me never to use eye creams. I did ignore that advice due to peer pressue and try them for a while, but soon learned that she knew what the heck she was talking about. :yep:
If you're not ready to buy a program, Tom Haggerty offers a free program online at www.shapeyourface.com and he's even got a forum so you can get direction if you have question. If you look at his face, you'll see that those 5 exercises really do make a difference. The only thing I'll stress is that you do the exercises in front of a mirror and focus on correct form. Like when you do the winking exercise, try to keep the rest of your face relaxed like Tom does. Don't worry if your eyes don't open up as wide as his. I'm sure that improves with better tone in your face.
Good luck if you choose to do this.

Thanks Nonie for the advice. I was thinking about buying eye creams too. I used ice and the puffiness went down a lot. I need to get on those facial exercises. I found a video of some on youtube that I'm going to start doing.

Interesting information.
I've used eye creams successfully. All About Eyes by Clinique. I apply it around the eye sockets, NEVER directly under the eyes, and I tap tap lightly rather than rub rub. That might be why people don't see results.
