I've been wanting to do this for awhile and was a little reluctant. I finally got the nerve to call up this place I had heard great things about. The woman was very thorough and explained the different types (Traditional Mineral Crystal, Organic Walnut Shell, and Diamond Peel) they offer along with what to expect during and after the procedure. She will start with a facial then I will have a customized masque, followed by massage, extraction, and then then the microdermabrasion. I've been doing lactic acid peels with no real peeling although I have noticed some changes in my face. I think this is what I need to get rid of some marks that have been slowly fading. I will run home and get the camera and see if I can take pics of my journey and post it on my blog. I am so excited!!! Q
I am excited for you. I can't wait to hear your results.

I used to get these done alternating with a glycolic peel once a month at skinclinic! They just did the procedure without the extras you're getting though. I liked it and stayed till my 6 month package was over.

I had to fill out some paperwork asking about any medical problems, why I sought micro and what I hoped to accomplish. She led me to a room with a bed and told me to put on a towel that wrapped around my body and I got up under the covers. She turned off the lights, wrapped 2 towels around my hair and looked at my skin under a lamp. She started with a facial massage using her hands and warm water. A cleanser was applied and wash massaged on my face and neck followed by a mask. They were removed by using a warm towel wrapped around my face. The massage, cleaning and mask took about 20 minutes.
Next she carefully looked at my skin under a lamp and we discussed my skin and the problems I was having. She explained how the micro worked and what type she was going to use and began. My eyes were covered and she began. She started with my forehead area using her hands afterward to feel to make sure it was even. She did one side towards the cheek then the other. The chin was done and then the nose area. She did the neck last and went over any areas as needed. It lasted about 15-30 minutes. She made sure all of the crystals was gone and followed with a cleanser, steam towel, and toner.
Then came the extraction. She used gloves and it hurt like heck!!! That only took like 5 minutes. She applied a steamed towel and let that sit for a few minutes and then applied a serum, and moisturizer. She also put a serum on my lips. She went through at least 7 or 8 towels and my face was glowing. I think the LA peels brought a lot of oil and impurities to the surface because my face was shining.
My appointment was at 12:30 and I didn't leave until almost 2. She advised about some products but I didn't want to purchase them so she gave me some samples to try at home. She also wanted me to come back every 2 weeks.
I think my face looked a little worse after because of the extractions but it felt really smooth and it looks better today. Here are some pics. Q
Before, don't know why I look lighter but this was taken in the room.

I have some of the sides of my face but those are for comparison purposes. Overall I am happy. I scheduled for the 16 but I think I am going to move it up and get another one done either on the 8th or 9th. I should see results after about 3 treatments. Q

Thats not so bad. I have these huge pores on my cheeks. I wonder if it will help minimize them?

It did for me. I think I only need about 3 or 4 treatments which will help with the breakouts and even my skin. So I think it is def worth it considering the time frame too. Keep me posted. Q
ETA: You may not need micro though. I think a customized facial would probably help. But micro is like the icing on the cake. Q

I can def see a difference in my forehead. Today is day 3 and I am noticing a few things. I haven't had any new breakouts at all. My skin is starting to peel a little which is good because some of the dark spots are peeling off and a nice even tone is under it. Right now I am washing with Cetaphil and then applying aloe vera gel followed by Olay sensitive skin moisturizer with aloe. I apply the cetaphil moisturizer with spf when I have to go out in the sun. Also my face is not oily like it was before but it is not dry either. I am still trying to decide if I want to do a LA peel this week to see if it will help. I am thinking about bumping up my next one to the 8th on my b-day just to keep with the 2 week timeframe. I will keep yall posted. Q

Girl I know it. Some of the other places was charging a grip and they didn't even offer everything I got. Some of them didn't really have the answers I was looking for regarding AA skin either. :nono: This is was def worth it. :yep: Q
