It's cheaper and more convenient than using water filters to me. The first time I boiled my water and poured it in the glass, I couldn't believe how crystal clear it was! I have started adding a bit of organic lemon juice by Santa Cruz to mine, for a little more pizzaz.

I use to but now I just go to my local health food store with a 3 gallon jug and buy my water for $0.39 cents a gallon.

My Grandma has been doing this from ever since I can remember. Apparently bottled water is a con in many ways so I would be more likely to do this.:look:

I use to but 2 years ago I tested water that was boiled, cooled and stored in a Brita and plain tap water. What I found was that the water in the Brita had more micro organisms than the plain tap water in New York City Reservoirs. So now, I don't boiled anymore, I just pour tap water into my Brita and leave it in the fridge.

Though I prefer distilled water, I did train my taste buds to accept tap in a pinch. My friend said her ex-SO used to bowl a big pot every morning (or was it evening) so that it would be available. My family and I have discussed doing that as opposed to wasting bottles. We definitely aren't purchasing individual bottles of water anymore. It just doesn't make environmental sense anymore. (I'm gonna miss my Mineola and Smart Water though...)

eta: I'll ultimately be purchasing a home distiller. There are some good options available at reasonable prices.
