Skinnyfat describes those ladies who are thin or average size but have a high body fat % and not enough muscle tone.
This challenge is appropriate for ladies who want to lose their last few pounds or who are at their goal weight and need to tone. I need some support in losing my skinnyfatness so if anyone is interested in starting a challenge please post your stats and goal in this thread. THe rules are simple:

1: Review the tips to end skinnyfatness listed on the site below
http://www.hotnfit.com/nutrition/skinnyfat.html#top, use the nutrition calculator to determine your needs
2: Exercise atleast 4 times per week and include weights/resistance training in your schedule
3: Eat a balanced diet of healthy fruits, veggies, and lean protein, 1 cheat meal is allowed per week (no meal skipping!!!! 3 meals and 2 snacks preferably) if you need help w/your diet check out http://bodyforlife.com/nutrition/week1meals.asp
4: Take multivitamins daily and get a minimum of 64oz of water per day
5: Post exercise and nutrition logs atleast 3 times a week to monitor progress, accountability is important.
6: Take your stats beforehand and have someone take photos (before, mid challenge, and after), tracking skinnyfatness is best done w/photos over the scale. When I am out of shape I often weigh less.

Skinnyfat challenge round 1
Start Date: June 30th
End Date: August 30th

I know there are other ladies out there who need to tone or just lose a few and need some support like me!

Sure!!!! What is your workout plan? I'm going to be doing P90X, Tae Bo and firm videos. Since you have pics that's probably the best way to track your changes. IF you want to do your measurements you can get a cheap tape measure from the dollar store or I used to use yarn from around the house and mark of changes for myself.

I'm in! I've kinda already started but it's more fun to do stuff as a group.
My stats are:
5'8", 145 From last getting measured, my %fat was about 25%. She said that was good...I think not! So what if I fall into the average fat %...I am not average!!!

Anywho, my goal is simply to tone my body, continue eating healthy, and maintain a workout regime. I did the MC to jump start myself a few weeks back. So from that, it mademe aware of my eating. I'm not incorporating more whole grains, fruits, veggies, beans and fish, and less red meat. I do need to cut back on the alcohol since I love my martinis and tend to have 2 drinks on Friday and Saturday. :nono:

I'm soo excited!

Welcome!!! I need to detox as well. I think I'm going to have to do like a raw detox and use some herbs to help w/the cleanse. I don't want to do a total fast w/my workout program. ALcohol definitely is alot of empty calories. Can you try and cut back to 1 per day on Fri and Sat or just 2 on one of those days and make that your cheat.

I'm definitely going to try to cut back. I'm incorporating items from the Abs Diet and they allow one cheat meal per week. So I intend to do that.

I actually have found some perfect breakfasts for myself to stay full 4 hours, yet healthy.

I eat the Optimum Power Cereal with 1 omega 3 boiled egg.
http://www.naturespath.com/var/plain/storage/images/products/cold_cereals/optimum_r_cereals/optimum_power/4289-25-eng-US/optimum_power_productlarge.jpghttp://www.naturespath.com/var/plain/storage/images/products/cold_cereals/optimum_r_cereals/optimum_power/4290-25-eng-US/optimum_power.gif
I make my own granola (to reduce the fat and add more whole grains) and make a parfait. I always do the classic below minus the raisins since I feel they are more sugary. It is a layer or vanilla lowfat yogurt, layer of rasberries/blueberries and layer of granola..then repeat. I then add a protein on the side. Plus its' soo pretty! I'll sometimes do those for lunch or dinner also. Both total less or close to 400 calories.

OK Ladies our start date is approachings so

1) start cleaning those snacks OUT of the house, toss the junk or give it away
2) plan your meals, use some time this weekend to think through and grocery shop so you don't end up eating out or doing mindless snacking

Now only if I could get my ponytail puff to look like yours:yep:

I plan to go grocery shopping this weekend. I'm still working on planning my meals. My biggest challenge will be soda :wallbash: I don't know if I'll be able to do without it. What types of lunches do you ladies plan on doing?

LOL!!! The puff is in retirement for now, it's too hot for all of that.
You have to get rid of the soda. EVen the diet stuff is bad for you. It bloats your belly and it horrible on the bones.
