:yay:Okay, this may not seem like a big deal to some people but I have never been able to run for long distances even when I was slender and a size 2.

Well today, I got on the treadmill. After a quick warmup, I ran for over 30 minutes without stopping (31 minutes to be exact, lol!!). I kept my speed between 5.6-6.0 mph. While I wasn't exactly clocking in at the fastest time, I'm still so proud of myself.

There were times I definitely wanted to give up but I just kept going. This is great because I've been away from exercise for a few weeks. What a great way to get started on my summer workout plan. I'm hoping to work out tomorrow morning too!

Congratulations! Nothing makes you feel quite as energized as making progress. :bouncy: By the way, 5.6 - 6.0 mph is nothing to sneeze at and is DEFINTELY on the faster side in my book. :yep:

That's good!! I wish I could make myself do that. I should be at that stage by now but I always talk myself out of going further.:perplexed

I'm happy for you!

I can relate! I've always wanted to run, but it's heck on the ankles and joints so I walk 2.5 mph or jog a little.

Keep up the good work and watch those ankles and knees!

Very Good! I plan on trying to run tomorrow at the gym. I hate running , but I think that's what I'm going to have to do to kick up my weight loss. Keep up the good work hun!

I believe 5.6 - 6.0 mph is a pretty fast pace on the threadmill. Way to go!!!

Well I'm impressed. I work out regularly and do lots of cardio and weights BUT I can't run for anything. I sent an e-mail to my work out buddy today and stated that my workout goal for 2008 is to be able to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Way to go:yep:

I'm very impressed. I can't run for more than 2 minutes :nono: I can walk briskly for two hours straight but running leaves me winded.

CONGRATS OP.... Im proud of you. keep up the good work.:dance7:

Son26, You can do it. I use to say the same thing too. But one day I said what the heck and started by doing 2 minutes at a time. I now run for 30 mins and and do Eliptical for 30 mins. I finally worked up the nerve to get off the threadmill and take it to the concrete.. Man thats a whole different ball game. Concrete takes energy. I did 30 mins on Monday in the park but felt good.
