Okay, Im not overweight, but I would really like to tone up. So, what is everyone doing to lose these few pounds? Lemme here some workout/food regimens!!
Right now, I have the Firm(one cardio tape) and I do it 5x week, I need more tapes tho. Im also on a personal "no bread, no junk" challenge for a month to wean myself off the stuff(Shout out to HoneyLemonDrop). So far Ive been good. Im also taking flaxseed oil and it really keeps me full.
I need more cardio I think. I live on campus right now and I thought about walking, but I dont know how effect a track will be since its flat ground. I wanna feel the burn! I do have access to a gym w/ treadmills but I feel like a chump walking when everyone else is running...I HATE to run. Maybe I need to get over that.. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif
So is anyone else with me on this?

Hi Pinkflower,
My target weight is between 110-115. I have a small frame and am 5'2''. I am currently 135. I will drop 5 then gain it back. I am currently on a no pasta no junk food challenge as I have a wedding to go to in May. I started an excercise regime of either walking every day or working out on my exercise bike for 30 minutes every day, running doesn't work for me unless it's on a treadmill.
Goodluck and I hope more folks respond!!!

I don't even have that much to lose. I don't care to be under 125 as I look extremely anorexic and people called me skinny. So, I have about 5 pounds. Hopefully I will gain some muscle because my body fat percentage is high. Of course the average body fat percentage is obesity so I guess I'm OK. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
You would be surprised at what walking will do for you on a flat track. It's all in how fast you walk. Saturday I did a one mile walk in 12:10 on the track in my gym which is better than 4 mph. Muscles in the bottom part of my leg are sore - muscles that I don't even begin to feel on the treadmill even though I do interval training on the treadmill.
Also pick up the weights and do some weight training. That will really boost your muscle tone. And the plus side to having more muscle mass is that you can eat more because muscle burns more calories than fat. I think it's 5:1. Also in your walk, try lunging for a minute - you'll be feeling the burn allright. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

This is what I'm working on...
I'd like to lose about 10 pounds so I'm counting calories and trying to consume no more than 1400 on most days. I also plan to wake up early enough to eat breakfast and exercise to a video tape. (I did good this morning)
AND, if I feel like it--I'll take a walk in the evening time too.
I feel motivated right now because I dropped 3 pounds without trying and this is something that I couldn't do this time last year even though I was working my butt off.

Yes, Pinkflower, This no bread no junk food was fairly easy to me this month so far until my mother made some homemade biscuits and and sent them overhttp://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif. I just about lost it. But I didnt give in, well I took one bite and ran out the kitchen http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. Anyway, I do want to lose about 15 pounds. My goal weight is 125. In addition to my no bread and junk month, Im on the stepper every day. I also do 4 sets of one minute jumping jacks because they did wonders for my lower back and legs last summer. Im trying to plan out what more I can do by looking for ideas on this board.

Naughtee,
Have you had your body fat tested? It may be that you have more muscle now than then. And muscle weighs more than fat. I think that the correct gauge for you since it seems like you've been working out for some time is to get your body fat tested.
I know people who have lost down to their ideal weight and then when they started weight training, they put on 10 pounds of muscle. Which of course, dropped their body fat percentage down.

Hi everyone!
I am 5'4" and am now 140 but would like to get to 115 so thats 25 pounds. I am going on a low fat diet. I'm trying to stay under 25 grams of fat per day, so I will be cutting out all meat except for fish. I will also cut candy and fried foods. I plan on walking 2 miles in the morning and 2 miles in the evening 5 days per week. I am going to be incorparating pushups and situps.
I need to lose weight all over but my tummy area is out of control.

I need advice on what I can do to lose 10-15 pounds I've gained since buying my car in 2001. I was 135 which is skinny on me because I'm about 5'9. I used to catch the bus and did nothing else for excercise and ate whatever I wanted and stayed at a constant 135. But now some years later after getting my car, I'm 145+. At one point I was 160. But I started to watch what I was eating and that came off quickly but it's the last 10-15 I can't get off and what's really frustrating is I'm working my butt off! I get up and work out at 7:00 a.m. in the morning, eat oatmeal with honey as a sweetner for breakfast, drink a cup of water every hour, eat a meat and vegatable for lunch, if I can afford it I eat yogurt or something like that in between breakfast and lunch and then again between lunch and dinner. I eat a meat a vegatable again for dinner and finally my vitamins and a protein shake. I have lost between 2-5 pounds but this is like in three months. I have slacked and cheated every so often and I'm thinking this is what is the problem. Any advice? Thanks in Advance.

So you have the same problem I'm experiencing. Man I thought I was the only one! I think I'm going crazy! I mean I'm working my tail off and barely anything. What is up with that? I'm almost starving myself here and my weight is like WHAT? No change whatsoever. There must be somthing we are not doing right. I mean I bought the body for life book and followed that with some minor tweaking and still nothing. I just want to fit into my old pants again because I'm to lazy to buy new ones. I hate shopping...

Feelin it- What type of exercise do you do? Also, I never understood why females take protein shakes. My SO plays football and he drinks them to gain weight. Every football guy I know drinks them. Maybe you should try to get your protein in some other way.. Also we just started a jump rope challenge, you should join, its a great way to get in shape.

I'm drinking meal replacement shakes, a Met-Rx brand. They say you should eat six times a day so the shakes or drinks are substitutes for the meals I can't make at work. I kind of follow the "Body for Life" workout by Bill Phillips where you work out the upper body one day, aerobic activity the next day, lower body, aerobic activity the next and so on for six days a week, then on Sunday you do nothing and pig out. What I think is happening is this, I'm working out but not at peak capacity and sometimes I'm not consistent enough for my body to catch on. Also, I have a bad sugar habit and sugar in the diet is just throwing everything off.
I had the mind set where before I would eat maybe two to three times a day but the meals would be unhealthy and fattening and sometimes late at night and my body would store that fat. As I understand it, your body goes into starvation mode and stores everything you consome when you don't eat enough so that's where the eating six times a day routine comes into play. Your body or your metablism speeds up then because it's getting fed.
Basically all of that is to say, I think I'm doing a lot of the right things in the wrong way.....and I need to put the kit kat bar and the smirnoff ice down.
Also I called EAS to get some fitness advice on what was wrong with my program and the representative stated that it may be muscle gain and that initially you may gain some muscle weight but then the fat loss will continue as the muscle or lean mass comes on. He said to try not to focus on the scale. One good indicator though that I have lost some weight is how my once really tight clothes are now fitting looser.
Okay sorry for the long post.

If you are working out.....you should definitely not be starving yourself. Your body needs food because it's fuel. If your body is burning more than it's taking in...it's going to go into starvation mode. If it goes into starvation mode, you won't see any weight loss.
Make sure you are eating enough. ALso, how long are you working out?
