Has anyone tried spinning classes before? I am thinking about trying it out cuz it looks like a great workout, but I think it might kick my butt, lol. I can see myself walking out of the room in the first 10 min. and never looking back.

Your thigs and butt will be really toned. I have a spinner bike at home. I've been to lazy to get on it. I need to get back on that thing, but 30 minutes and you can really feel the burn.

It definitely kicks butt. You burn a lot of calories and it's a great workout for your legs.
I do like to ride the stationary bike at the gym but I hate spinning classes. I gave it a try twice but it's not for me.

I love spinning! I try to spin 3x a week. Last summer when I was spinning regularly I got so many compliments on my legs! It is pretty challenging and can be strenuous at times but with the right music and instructor it can be alot of fun too.

It's a good workout but the seats are too hard for my tushy. If you go make sure you bring a pillow http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are special gel seats and padded cycling shorts you can wear.

I love spinning it makes your legs and hips whittle away and you go at your own pace.

Funny you should bring this up. I just signed up for my first spinning class to start in April. The healthclub brochure said you burn a whopping 500 calories in 45 minutes! I could never do that on my treadmill. I can't wait to start.

I'm initially taking a beginner's class that's only 30 minutes, just to get used to it. And I've heard that a gel seat is good investment for a spin class.

Good luck, honey jammz.

I have a gel seat and it helps but it still hurts. I am convinced that you 'grow' something in that area after a while that helps reduce the discomfort (like how guitarists grow calluses on their finger pads...)
