Please Help! 1970's Fashions

We are hosting a surprise birthday party for my mom. The theme 1970's theme and we are scrambling for more ideas on how to make it as authentic as possible.

Please suggest fashions, decorations, music, food and games that we can incorporate into the party.

Are there any pictures of looks that you can share? I'm desperate here...I am an 80's baby.

Here's what we have so far:


We've ordered a 14" disco ball that will hang in the air (the party will be outside). We will have lights pointed towards the ball so that it will reflect light around the yard
chalk - we'll create hop-skotch patterns on the drive way
An assortment of pastel colored balloons
I'm ordering Afro wigs today.
We'll put out some board games


As you can see, our list is extremely short and we need more ideas. The party is this Saturday.

Great suggestions! I just called my sister and read of the list of artists you mentioned.
Your picture of the print gave me an idea to create tie dye t-shirts for the kids.
