I've been wanting to try a mineral makeup for awhile now. If anybody has used, can you tell me your experiences.

I don't know which is better either. Sheer Cover, Bare Esentuals, or another brand.

I have used Bare Escentuals, and liked it. It isn't a really full coverage, despite what they say. But it's a nice natural look. One thing though, the actual Boutique sells more shades than QVC. I couldn't buy it off QVC, because they didn't carry my color.

I've used both BE and Sheer Cover. I prefer Sheer Cover - it is more of a natural coverage and not shiny. More colors to chose from. I am light skinned. I'd say give it a try. I think mineral makeup is better for your skin.

Yeah, I am also light and had a hard time getting the shades to match(the ones sold on QVC). They only sell Fair, Light,Med,Dark, Deep. I was not med, it was very pink and I'm yellow, and dark was a tad muddy on me.

Thanks for your input http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I noticed on the infomercials they let you return it if you're not happy so maybe I could try both.

With BE I use 5.2(medium tan) and in Sheer Cover I have Toffee and Warm Beige.

On makeup alley and some other review sites, most people state that it is just not enough to be considered a foundation. I don't wear foundation but thought that would be a good product to have around. I decided against it though.

Although I somewhat like BE, I agree with those reviews, Bettie. It definately doesn't cover the way those commercials claim. It says it covers rosacea and acne and dark circles. Well, if it does it is minimal, not complete coverage.

Bare Escentuals has to be one of my WORST makeovers ever. (and I love a good makeover so I've had quite a few) The poor girl did my makeup for an hour before finally having to admit that they didn't carry a color that was dark enough for me (which astonished me as I am not that dark so if they couldn't match me, then they wouldn't be able to match quite a few sistahs) Just for reference - I'm an NC50 in MAC foundations.
