Seneitive skin ladies-
I just read in Family Circle Magazine that a researchers have found that using scrubs can be beneficial to those with sensitive and acne-prone skin, contrary to popular opinion. What matters is how you use it. When applied in a very gentle manner, the scrubs can do more good than harm. We've always been told that scrubs are no good for these types.

I also think it matters what you use. Using a scrub with a really rouch, coarse exfoliant may not be helpful, but using one with very gentle, fine exfoliants should be fine.

Hey Happylocks. Maybe some others will Chime in.

I've always been told not to use scrubs on my sensitive face. I use them on my body and feet and do okay, depending on the stuff I use. But I haven't done a scrub on my face for a while.

The only scrub I've ever uused with success is Remede Sweep. All the rest either irritate or do nothing. They even have a milder one than the "regular"....

I don't need them anymore since I started using Biore pore strips tho. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

thanks for the replys everyone,http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif I will try the olive oil and sugar, that is something I have around the house now, but I was thinking about scurbs like, brushs, If I know we were talking about exfolition(sp) on this face, I have done that, and my face has come out smooth, I used baking soda w/lemons, to help with my scars make them lighter, did not stick with it, but Ill try again

Are we talkin about brushes? My bad. For scars I think you should try a prescription with hydroquinone, the higher the better. Also if you might want to poke around at acne.org, they have a lot of info on lightening scars. Cheap ways too!

honey and sugar for the face and neck works wonders. It also tightens the pores.

Mary Kay makes a light facial scrub. You can't even feel the scrubbly things in it.

I've noticed that when I get a facial at the spa, I can't feel the rough particles (not scrubbly things) when they do the facial scrub. It's always feels smooth and gentle.

Arbonne has great scrubs too. Happylocks, I'm with you, it's good news to me. Although, I still think that a scrub and a mask should be done at different times, especially for those with sensitive skin.

There is a gentle scrub I use. It's from Origins "Swept Away". This scrub is targeted toward sensitive skin. Believe me I have very sensitive and oily skin. I have not broke out yet. I'v been using it for over 2 months now.

the best face scrub i've EVER used was Aveeno's Skin Brightening Daily Face Scrub..it cleanses and exfoliates at the same time.

See, I thought they were beneficial too. I only started having problems when I started following the advice from the experts of the moment.

I think for sensitive skin a scrub should be done once or twice a week . Clay masks are recommended but I've always preferred peel off masks. I would alternate, using the peel off mask more often. When I did this I had flawless skin. Over the past few years I haven't followed my own advice. I'm just getting back to doing what worked for me.

Currently, I have some samples of different scrubs. I also have the phyto pumpkin scrub and the micro dermabrasion type scrub from Serious Skincare.
