Okay my interest is now peaked in trying these but there's sooo many its confusing know which is better than the other.
I usually do advanced Tae Bo and advanced gym classes so I want something that's really challenging and encorporates weights and aerobics. I don't want to buy a step/bands/balls etc so I'm ruling those Firm tapes out. The most I'd do is improvise using a regular chair for anything that needs the legs up while lying on my back. I have one set of dumbells (around 5 ILbs and would get lighter ones if necessary).
I was looking at the body and cardio ones but am open to suggestions. What's your favourite k*@k butt Firm tape?
Thanks
p.s I'd prefer if its on DVD so I can workout in the living room /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I have The Firm tapes that are advertised on TV infomercials. I got mine from QVC and they came with an extra tape called Sculpted Hips, Buns and Thighs. There are no steps/ bands/ balls, etc. that you don't want to use. Actually, the workout is done completely on the floor.
It is a very challenging tape and you use one heavy dumbbell and an ankle weight. I like to incorporate that tape into my Firm and Tae Bo rotation (also do Advanced and have about 6 or 7 T.B. tapes total).
You can buy the Sculpted Hips, Bun and Thighs from Target. But just to let you know, a lot of the tape does abdominal work. That is the main reason why I like to do it after a Cardio workout.
Also, have you thought about adding light weights to your Tae Bo? Before I got The Firm I would use ankle weights and wrist weights and there was some serious sweating going on and I started to see more definition in my muscles. Just a thought...

This seems like a great idea, I need something to make my Taebo workout just a little tougher/forums/images/graemlins/whip.gif. I think I need to invest in some ankle weights! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The ankle and wrist weights are great, especially the ankle weights. I'm telling you, you're EYEBALLS will be sweating by the time you finish the workout /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif!
BTW Caramela, how are you doing with The Firm?

OMG!!! Loving The Firm. /forums/images/graemlins/kiss2.gif It's "my baby". I have lost 8lbs altogether since starting. I am getting so much stronger! I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to get in shape fast!! It's very difficult, but so worth it. I was able to run a mile staight through Monday afternoon and I haven't been able to do that in years!!! I'm surprised that it's giving me increased cardiovasular as well as increased muscular strength. I'm absolutely in love with this program! I honestly believe my tummy will be awesome this summer!

Congrats Carmela. How long did it take you to lose the 8lbs once you started? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I've been at it since 12/01/03, and I lost 5 in the first month, and 3 additional pounds this month. It's not alot of weight, really. But I have lost mad inches, my clothes are fitting a lot more loosely... The thing w/lifting weights is you're building muscle and that weighs more than fat. So you may be losing fat and gaining muscle and the scale may show a higher number or not seem to move. So it's important to watch your measurements and look for the change in the way your clothes fit.

Caramela,
Can you give me the exact names of The Firm tapes/DVD's that you use? I'd like to read up on them on the web. I know there are LOADS of them and I want to read up on the right ones.
Thanks!

I love The Firm too!!! I have been sick, so I had to stop exercising for a month and when I went back to the Body Sculpt my muscles were like "Uhhhh, NOOOOOOO!!! So right now since I'm getting started again I am alternating the Cardio Sculpt and Sculpted Hips, Buns, and Thighs with Tae Bo Advanced and Winsor Pilates. I like the Pilates because it really works my stomach and it is such a stretcher. I'm more concerned with firming up and shrinking my midsection, but I would like to loose like 20 lbs. I've been watching what I eat so I'm confident I will have an awesome stomach by Summer too!!!

I have the Super Cardio Mix which is a DVD and the great thing about this is if you don't want to do the entire workout on any particular day you can customize your workout by picking different sections of the workout to do in the sequence of your choice by using the programming feature provided. I got this DVD at Target.
Caramela,
You may be interested in this as well it's very intense if your looking for more of a challenge.

I'm not familiar with the newer tapes since the infomercial. I have almost all of the older ones, though. For floorwork, Body Building Basics is the hardest. For standing leg work you can't beat Standing Legs. Tough Tape is a challenging weight workout.
I never got a real "straight cardio" challenge from FIRM cardio tapes. I liked Cathe Friedrich (cathe.com) and CIA tapes (ciavideo.com) for that.
My favorite FIRM is Low Impact Aerobics with Janet Jones-Gretsky. She is unintentionally very funny on this tape. She's trying to be sexy or something... /forums/images/graemlins/look.gif
It's a good workout, too.
