Anyone have any suggestions to help absorb the oil? And I also need a few makeup tips to keep it from sLiDinG off of my face!!!!
I'm using a double matte foundation, and blot with oil absorbing tissues throughout the evening, but I wind up with a crease in the eyshadow, black eyes when the mascara runs(it's waterproof, not oil proof)!!! HELP!!! I have a function to attend on Saturday night.

You could go to a Clarins counter and ask for samples from their line for oily/shiny skin, I use the one for combination to oily skin and I find its very helpful, especially in the summer. HTH
BTW Anky, how are you doing girl!

I use to have really oily skin. You should watch the products you put in your hair and on your face. I have the same problem with eyeshadow getting in the crease but a make-up artists told me to put concealer over my eyelid then put on the eyeshadow. It works pretty good. I wash my face every morning and night with Neutrogrena oil free acne wash, then the clear pore astringent, then the healthy skin face moisturizer with spf 15. I have definitely seen an improvement in my skin.

Also, as for your skin breaking out! You should go see a dermatologist. I have a good one but of course she's in New York. For years I had problems with acne and went to several dermatologists but none of them really helped until I went to Dr. Simmons who I found in the Essence Total Body Make-Over book. She told me I had Seborrheic Dermititis and that was causing the acne. She gave me a medicated shampoo and and a lotion for my hair and some Differin cream for my face. I can't remember the last time I had a pimple on my face. I just love her.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I do not wear makeup on a daily basis, just when I'm going out.........so if anyone has any tips on combating oil on bare skin....I'm all ears!
Hi Queen. The first thing you want to do is get a foundation primer. I am currently using Laura Mercier Primer but I've heard the Smashbox and Philosophy's are pretty good. The primer will help foundation from sliding off of your face. Also make sure that you use a powder to set your foundation. As far as eyeshadow creasing goes. Are you using an eyeshadow brush to apply it? I have found that if I use brushes my shadow doesn't crease. There are also products that you can use to keep your eyeshadow from creasing - MAC -Untitled paint is great for keeping eyeshadow from creasing and it doesn't change the color of the eyeshadow that you are putting over it. Also I use Dr. Bronner's multipurpose liquid soap to wash my face. Then I put Avon's Anew All-In-One on my face as a moisturizer. I used to have a big problem with breakouts all over my face. After using the Dr. Bronner's for a month that cleared it up right away. I was having a problem with the DB drying my face out too much and found that the Avon was perfect for bringing the moisture in nicely. I hope this helps!

A cheap alternative is to use Milk of Magnesia. I use it as a fask mask and primer to obsorb oil. For me, its also very effective in drying out a pimple..HTH

I have extremely oily and acne prone skin. I'm on Retin A Micro which is supposed to dry up the skin but it didnt do anything for me. It does get rid of acne scars fast.
You can try Clinac OC (www.dermstore.com) its a lotion designed to absorb excessive facial oil. I only use powder foundation, and I love Clean and Clear Oil Blotting sheets. These suck up more oil than any other sheets I've tried. I use Mary Kay Eye Enhancer as a eye cream. It really prevents eyeshadow from creasing.

I also have extremely oily skin. Panoxyl with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide facial soap has really helped in keeping breakouts at bay.

I am also prone to getting breakouts. In the summer...I have a problem with oily skin. I started using Avon's ClearSkin line...and it has DRAMATICALLY cut down on my acne. No matter what I do...I still get breakouts during my monthly...but the facial scrub has really helped this time around. I only have a few pimples.
I wear Revlon's New Complexion line. It is a little oily...but with Clearskin...it has cut down on that too...
Also...using a hot facial cloth on your face for 10-20 seconds helps dry up any pimples that are coming to a head.
If the others ladies suggestions don't work for you...try Clearskin. It's very economical too! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
