I used my neti pot this morning and it reallly cleared my sinuses. I'm waiting on a supplement that helps with spring allergies.. they usually ship so fast. I pray it is waiting for me when I go pick up my packages tomorow.

My neti pot is no challenge for my nasal passages. They get so swollen, that the solution won't even come out of the other nostril. My doc says when she looks up there, it's as if my sinuses are stuffed with cotton.
One is usually closed while the other is nearly opened but usually not at the same time... thank goodness.

What kind are supplement are you taking Vevster? I find that MSM has really helped me with my allergy symptoms. I had none last year, but this year it's really rough. I'm finding I have to take a Claritin once or twice a week, which is still nothing like before taking the MSM.

MSM has really helped me too. It's funny because I didnt even notice when allergy season started until a coworker was sniffling and complaining of tearing eyes from the seasonal change. So far, I haven't used Claritin or the like. After years of using prescribed/non-prescribed "relievers", I'm so anti, that I'll take the brief headache it causes (much better than it used to be). I just increase my MSM, and aloe vera gel, and start sipping rose hips iced tea and a couple hours later, I'm feel better.
My sinuses were so bad (usually coupled with infections) that I even had to get surgery but now I've found that natural remedies not only relieve and cure they also don't create harmful side effects (and there were many, believe me!).

I'm taking 4000 mg a day (just increased to 5000 mg to help with allergies). I take Jarrow brand powder. It's the best I've tried so far. I mix it with FRS antioxidant drink mixed with an Emergen-C tropical punch pack. It really takes away the slight sulfur taste. The vitamin C is supposed to help with absorption. It has helped tremendously with allergies and joint pain. Also, I thought I was getting the first signs of carpal tunnel, but the pain went completely away after the first month or so of MSM. It has truly been a lifesaver.
I haven't used my neti pot consistently, but I will get back to that also. Thanks for the reminder.

I doesn't look all that pleasant, but it's not bad at all. My kids do it with no problem.
ETA: My sons allergist suggested he use a neti pot to wash out the pollen residue on a daily basis.

OMG, how did I ever forget I had a Neti Pot???!!! Thanks for the reminder about nasal irrigation. Anyone who hasn't tried it should do it. Even if you don't have sinus issues, it's just a good way to promote health in your body:
To summarize, nasal irrigation can purportedly:
Clear out sticky, persistent mucus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucus) and help reduce nasal congestion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_congestion)
Cleanse and rid the sinus cavities of allergens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allergens), irritants, and contaminants
Treat chronic sinusitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinusitis)
Treat acute bacterial rhinosinusitis[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_irrigation#cite_note-RabagoD-1)
Treat allergic rhinitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhinitis)
Prevent common colds and flu
Relieve nasal dryness
Promote healthy nasal passages
Treat empty nose syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empty_nose_syndrome) (a crippled nose caused by over-aggressive turbinate resection)
Improve breathing
Reduce coughing and other symptoms of post-nasal drip (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-nasal_drip)
Temporarily reduce symptoms of phantosmia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantosmia)
Generally improve sinus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranasal_sinus) health.
Other benefits practitioners may notice:
Vision is clearer. Jala neti (Ayurvedic word for nasal irrigation) will clean the tear ducts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tear_ducts), enabling better cleaning and moistening of the eyes.
Improved sense of smell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olfaction)
Improved sense of taste (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taste)
Deeper, more relaxed breathinghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_irrigation
