View Full Version : Don't Assume.....Ask

I'm hearing the Lord say to not assume that we understand the meaning of a sign (a vision, a dream, something that happens), but to ask Him the meaning of it.
Many are drawn away from the will of the Father because of following a sign. They're not to follow signs. Signs are to follow the people.
God is wanting to communicate with His people. He doesn't want them running to and fro trying to get a word from a prophet and then trying to fulfill it. He has much to say to His beloved ones if they will only be still long enough and listen.

So how do you know when God is talking? Sometimes I just don't know if God is talking so if I hear something, read something or something happens (i.e like I hear a pastor on tv say something that I was just agonizing over) then that's a sign to me that God is talking to me. Is this God talking to me or am I just looking for something that's not really there?
Still learning.

Something very unusual occurred...I was not planning to respond... but when I read your response... I started to copy and paste it....as a reference and this is what happened instead
God always speaks right when you need Him to and especially when you cry out to Him.
I "accidentally" still had the copy from a different post...of YOUR response to me.
THAT was your answer...
...Trust your heart ..where God lives...
Any communication that brings you CLOSER to HIM is of HIM
There will always be different doctrines/dogmas offered in the world,..
HE gave us a spirit of sound mind..of power and of love .. not of confusion

Dear plainj-
Oh, this isn't my prophecy. I enjoy reading prophecy so I saw this one and decided to share.
I think GOD communicates with us differently. You know he even knows the number of hairs on your head. So he knows what way to best communicate with you. I have heard GOD's actual voice once with all its majesty. His voice was deep and when he finished, it echoed. I will never forget that.
I once knew a lady who heard from that LORD and he would give her specific directions. My Mom will say sometimes that something told her to do such and such. I think some people hear a little whisper in their spirit. But once again we are all different so it varies with each person.
About 10 years ago, I was watching a lot of TBN. I went to church one day and a woman (stranger) came up to me and told me that I needed to know the word for myself. That was right on time because I had been depending on preachers for the Word.
I think it is easy to turn on the tv and tune into T.D. Jakes, or maybe Joel Osteen and they speak a message that you can relate to. I think this could happen to anyone. But just like the prophecy says in the original post, HE wants us to not assume but to ASK. If you are not sure that something is of GOD are not, ASK HIM.
