6 wks into Obagi --VERY happy w/ progress(Pics)

I just started using the Obagi system along with Retin-A Micro Gel about 6 weeks ago and i'm really liking it alot http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The retin A is pushing all my breakouts to the surface but as soon as they get up there after like 3 days they are completely dried out and gone with no scaring (because of how fast i guess this Obagi stops hyperpigmentation from setting in) http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/trampoline.gif i'm to the point now where i'm GLAD they are surfacing because i know they are out of my skin and i'm not all paranoid of scarring (which has been the kiss of death for me in the past--TONS of hyperpigmentation--i would say about 60% of it is gone now in the last 6 weeks though http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) I'm not sure i will be doing the peel though. i've heard others complaining about scarring from the peel itself at the skincare msg board i go to http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif so this in itself is making me kinda ...leery of having it done (i dont want to mess up the progress i've made trying to "tweek" myself into perfection. i'm not looking to be perfection, just nice skin that looks like just average skin without having to wear of concealer or foundation. --jainygirl

I did the agressive Obagi regimen for 6 months and am now on maintenance. All I can tell you is "the best is truly et to come!" Obagi is great! make sure you remember to faithfully use your suncreen or else allyour hard work will go down the tubes. Way to go girl!

I am confused are you just using retin A? what do you mean you haven't done the peel yet. Is their at home creams prior to in office/home peels?

Hey http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif I am using the Obagi Skin care line that you use along with Retin-A. Alot of peolple use this to improve the condition of their skin and also to get their skin in it's best condition before having the Blue Peel done. Alot of people use this prior to getting the peel done for optimum results http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Then there are others that dont bother to get the peel done after finishing their course of Obagi because they are very satisfied with the results w/o the peel (1 course can range from 4-8 weeks and most people do at least 2-3 courses depending on the result they are wanting to achieve)

hey queen sorry to hear about your ummm....rude relatives anyways, yeah i've been getting breakouts seems like every week since the age of 12, now 27. my skin calmed down for 5 years between 18 and 23 but after i had my son and started on Depo-Provera i have been plagued 10 times worse than i ever was before. anyways, i stopped using it a couple years ago but i've still been getting a "friend" aka--breakout like at least once every week. i just started using the Obagi line along with Retin A which is prescribed in conjunction with it. after just 2 days i notice a difference. the blackheads i had before are GONE. now i am really anxious to see what really becomes of my skin using this stuff, i'm worried but excited at the same time. i have 4% hydroquinone, a sunscreen with hydroquinone also in it to combat the sun while it fades the glorious dark marks i've attained with years of breakouts and a product called Exfoderme Forte which gets your skin to peeling in a hurry. The system works like this, you repair your skin on the cellular level from the inside out with the Exfoderme forte making it possible for the retin-a and Blender (product that is mixed with the retin-a that boosts the retin-a effects) to get deeper into your skin and correct the problems lying underneath before they reach the surface, while you combat the past problems (dark spots--with the hydroquinone and sunfader products). so far i'm on day 3 and peeling like crazy (which is what everyone told me what happen on day 3--but still i'm surprised) anyway i've tried EVERYTHING--i've been depressed about it and all that good stuff and honestly this is probably the only thing that didn't break me out as soon as it touched my skin. here is the website so you can read more. you normally have to go to a an aesthitician for the product and a dermatologist for the retin-a prescription, but you can also purchase the products online (i purchased mine at www.lovelyskin.com (http://www.lovelyskin.com--i) i will be giving updates on my progress every 2 weeks with the obagi. i hope this helps ya some ---jainygirl

Log onto this website and you can get detailed instructions on how to use Obagi. It really is a great product. My dermatologist recently told me that I should now start using 2% OTC hydrquinone and an OTC kojic acid in conjunction with my monthly dermabrasions.

I have a question? I went to the websites that were mentioned above and I was wondering why you would put clear on everywhere if it is what is supposed to fade spots. Wouldn't it fade everything? Or is clear supposed to fade spots by exfoliating, in which case I would see why you would put it on everywhere. Thanks.

Very good questions, cbj. I was just wondering the same thing. It seems like you would end up fading all the skin, when the only skin you really need faded is the scar.

Please help, jainygirl. Do you put Clear all over your face? or just the marks? And have you noticed fading? TIA.

The Clear has faded my areas with hyperpigmentation ALOT.
