My hairdresser was talking about this and I have seen it in alot of magazines. What do you know about it. Is is worth taking or should I leave it on the shelf. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif
I am not Jade but I have been taking Calcium for years. I recently switched to Coral Calcium about 6 months ago. It is suppose to be better absorbed by the body. In all honesty, I can't really tell a big difference between the regular calcium and Coral Calcium. The key to calcium is taking it with magnesium for better absorption.

Thanks Bett1e. I just wanted to know if it lived up to the hype or if it is just like other calcium supplements. I guess it can't hurt.
I also have CalMax, the powdered Calcium, that is suppose to help you sleep and heal all of your aches. I haven't noticed a difference in that Calcium either.

Hey girl!
According to my sample box, coral calcium is made from minerals collected from the fossilized coral granules of Okinawa, Japan. So basically it is supposed to be a mineral source derived directly from the sea.
The hype about coral calcium is that it is more easily absorbed in the body.
I am not convinced that it is a better calcium supplement than calcium citrate, which is supposed to be the most absorbable form of calcium.

Dionne,
At this point, I'd say it's hype...final verdict is not in. I'm sticking with my chelated calcium along with the rest of my multiminerals.
Let me know how your multimineral works out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Cheers and Love to you,

Hi Dionne!
I am currently takng Coral Calcium and I notice a difference in energy levels and I don't crave lots of junk any more. I have energy already naturally but Inotice more withas I said before, less carb cravings.
Be aware of low grade coral calcium. Low grade contain less than 12% magnesium I think. The kind itake has much more than that. And the Coral MUST come from Okinawa, Japan of High quality.

Thanks Hada. I might try it to see how it works out. I going to look at brands first. Jade, the mulitmineral is working pretty well. I am going to be adding Gary Null sea vegetable supplement (the one you mentioned before), nuti juice veggies and fruits, beet juice and maybe a little MSM.
An alternative doctor who is now on CNN and is a graduate of Harvard Medical school states that Calcium Citrate is better than Coral Calcium.
