I bought these (http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2506397&cp=2057782.701917.701923&view=all&num_buckets=1&pageType=family&pageType=family&page_bucket=0&int_nextBucket=0&hasPagination=false&pageCount=2&pageNum=1&int_prevBucket=-1&PAGES_PER_BUCKET=10&parentPage=family) (K2 Athena) because of the reviews for beginning skaters.
I wear a helmut, elbow pads, knee pads AND wrist pads. I look crazy but I don't want get hurt and I'm new at inline skating and I skate with my dog. I skate on paths where there are bikers, runners, etc. so there's alot of traffic.
If I to do it all over again I'd go old school and just get 4-wheel skates and call it a day.
it's much harder of a workout than I thought, but it gets easier the more you do it. I took a free class from parks & recreation to learn how to stop.
HTH!

Cool... yeah... it is a hard workout...
It's good for your booty though...
you really feel sore the next day if you're
doing it right...
I think I'm gonna get "ROLLERBLADE" brand...
they kind of expensive...
I will be wearing the pads and all that too...
I don't want to mess myself up
