Hey you guys welcome to my first thread. :drunk: I've been lurking on LHCF for YEARS!!!, a member for 2. I feel like I know most of you. :yep: In any case, I've searched and did not see a poll for this yet.

Many of you ladies have raved about products over the years to get rid of those spots/hyperpigmentation on your skin. I am trying to find the right product but would like your input on what worked the best. I used to suffer from acne but now I have the notorious spots. Nothing too deep, I can easily cover with powder foundation, but would like to walk the streets without it on nonetheless. I know there are a lot of experts on this board (we need to start handing out LHCF degrees to some of yall, especially the hair mixology experts!) Please let me know if I left something out of the poll that has been mentioned on this board as a definite winner.

Thanks SoSweet. I've heard a lot about shea butter. I was always worried about it blocking my pores, have you ever had this issue? I might have to look into this as a moisturizer.

For some reason I am allergic to Aveeno, I've tried a number of times, but I get rashes on my face after using it.

Lots of women here have been using ACV to clear up their spots. Check out al00fone's thread.

Cocoa butter (raw cocoa butter, not palmers) mixed with some drops of lemon oil. Bleaching cremes clog my oily, acne prone, sensitive skin.

If you want to see results fast you can try an egg(dry skin) or egg white(oily skin) and lemon juice mask. If you don't like the idea of egg on your face:giggle:
Then you can use a thin layer of plain yogurt mixed (very well) with lemon juice or horseradish. These masks work fast and lighten spots quite noticeably.

obagi works really well but its so expensive. it lighted my skin a bit much but it was ok since my face was several tones darker in my face.(it looked like i was wearing dark foundation)

I have a slight problem too and so last week I bought Clinique's Even Better Skin Tone Corrector. It says I should see results in 4-6 weeks but I wonder if anybody else has used it successfully?

I must add though that I noticed my dark spots getting lighter when I was using baking soda and ACV as my daily cleansing routine, but being the impatient girl I am, I wanted to try something that would work quicker!

Nope I never had a problem with it. I just melt it in my hands and rub it in nicely and it also can give your face a nice glow.

O wow I sometimes use acv as a toner. I didn't know it helps with dark spots as well :)

Well the above that I posted there were times where I didn't use them all at once so that's how I figured they all work for that. But the aveeno soap and shea butter combo got rid of mine quickly. And most likely the acv toner I was using.

I like Neutrogena Visibly Even Enzyme Treatment and Night Time Concentrate. It doesn't work overnight, but it does make all of your skin look better over time.

I used to get microdermabrasion done, but then I was like why am I spending 150 a month on this plus their system. They do have a good special where you buy a package and you get one treatment free but, meh. This was at Skinclinic.

Now my dermatologist gives me Glytone things to use and it definitely fades them gradually. Plus it keeps my oily prone skin under control. The only problem is they're not cheap. >.> I've never been one to actually purchase those $100+ miracle creams either. I just don't have it in me to justify it. These are about $45 for each item.

I've just gone back on them (after getting my seb derm under control). So the spots that popped up when I was being silly and bothering my skin (I'm one of those people that can't leave a blemish alone, when they were gone from what I was doing with my derm's advice I didn't have anything to bother :P) will go away soon!

I had read a thread..I think it was Naturalladys thread...anyway she was talking about turmeric cream & upton powder......so I had some indian face mask and turmeric seasoning (yeah for food ..LOL) so anyway I've been using the face mask mixed with turmeric seasoning and rose water or just plain water.....I make a paste and leave on until it dries...I've been doing this for about two weeks my skin is just amazing....glowing and my black marks (thanks to biotin) are fading.....I had previously tried baking soda and urine....but nothing is giving me amazing results like this ....

Eggs! I've have used it to tighten pores but never thought about using it to lighten spots. How fast would you say this works? I might have to research how this works!(I'm such a nerd). Thanks for you input :yep:

Amen! It takes a few days for a dark spot to develop and months for this crap to disappear! Its really annoying.
