Thanks ladies for all of your advice. While there was a smidge of improvement but I was not happy with my skin after the peel, I went to get a facial yesterday. My skin looked and felt 100% better. During the facial, the lady used a facial scrubber to exfoliate - that must have been the part I was missing.

I picked up some Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub on the way home - I'll be using it again.

I thought if I used the lactic acid and then used a scrub on subsequent days, it would be too much scrubing - I guess not.
