I got my eyebrows waxed! I knew I should have gotten them threaded because I use Retin-A, but I didn't listen and now I got a brown burn looking mark right under my eyebrow. I don't even use Retin A around my eyes so I don't know why that happened. Any products I should use?

This has happened to me. I used vitamin E oil on the area for about a week or two afterwards and I never scabbed or anything.

Thanks! I knew that I couldn't be the only one this happened to!

That is one of the many reasons you should start getting them threaded. Sorry.

I agree. if you keep using the retin-a get them threaded or plucked. After my skin came off I started having them plucked. I no longer use the acne meds that I was at the time, only AHAs so I get them wax regularly now.

This has happened to me before and yes, I started getting them threaded because I sometimes use products with glycolic acid in them. I used good 'ole Vaseline and the scabs were gone in two days. Good luck.

wow! In some states spas are forbidden to do waxing if you use Retin-A. But at the Asian shops, they don't give a darn. Usually it's posted and also most derms will tell you the same thing. I'm a threader, so I agree with PrincessScorpion.

I use emu oil for burns and it works very well.

wow, funny there is a post about this.
I currently have a huge scab near my eyelid. WHY did she put wax there, I have no idea:wallbash:
i'm wondering if it dripped down and she decided to rip it off, but yes, some of my skin came off.

i'm so angry. i have very sensitive skin and i don't think it does well with waxing.

Euphoria Salons out here in Las Vegas make you sign a form stating that you do not use retin-a or glycolic acid for at least 14-days prior to your scheduled waxing. They definitely don't wanna get sued.

Yup, my ex-boyfriends sister waxed my eyebrows and ripped the skin right off! I made her *** feel guilty for months  !!! Surprisingly, I had no scarring, and I scar very easily. I think I used Neosporin.

The things we do for beauty.

You'll be ok. :)

Hold up! Wait a minute! This is the first I've heard of retin-a and glycolic acid causing the skin being ripped during waxing. Why is that? Whew!! I must have dodged a bullet with my last visit.

Retin-A thins the skin and makes the skin ultra sensitive for some. Thin skin and waxing just don't mix:nono:

This happened to me and I dont even use any products that would make my skin rip off like that. The lady was just brutal ... that's what I get from trying to save money. :ohwell: My eye was swollen almost shut. I didn't put anything on it and it healed nicely (I normally heal well anyway) but I was scared of putting anything so close to my eye.

This happened to me also. I used triple antibiotic ointment and it healed just fine. (No marks) Yeah, some of us hard heads have to learn the hard way.:perplexed

Yeah it seems like its peeling off...I just hope it doesn't scar. I'll definently be getting it threaded from now on. Hopefully by Easter it will be gone...

Agreed! I have tried waxing several times (not in conjunction with Retin-A) and it ALWAYS left my skin ripped, inflamed, and irritated. :nono: I just decided that it wasn't for me, and I've been loving threading ever since.
