Blush and Lipstick

What is a good rule for picking different colors of lipstick and blush? I love nude lipsticks and playing with different versions of them. But I don't know what goes with what in regards to when I wear different eye shadows. I also have no idea how to pull of red or if I should even be trying to. I love red lipstick on white women and some light skinned black girls. But when you get into medium - dark skinned women, I don't like it. Does anyone have a pic of a red lipstick on dark skin? I am dark skinned.

I wear red lipstick and I'm dark skinned. I got this color from my cousin who is also dark skinned. Most of my blushes are brown/bronze. I have a few pinks that I wear sometimes but I don't like to have too many colors clashing on my face.

I read somewhere that lipsticks and blushes should be in the same family.

JLove though said that she picks whatever blushes she feels at the moment. Another poster agreed with her but I forget who it was.

I'm not that good with the colors yet so I'm afraid to be that daring.:grin:

I wear red lipstick too.

ETA: I'm brownskinned and I sometimes wear Loreal Color Juice in Rasperry Splash. It's a red sheer gloss. I line it with a red liner.

I also just purchased Loreal HIP Turbulent and it's the BOMB.

There are no rules in make up IMO. Wear what you want.

If I wear lip color, I wear a pinkish blush.

If I am wearing peachy orangey I tend to go for my orange/red blush.

If I wear purple lips I do no blush or my dark red blush.

If I am neutral I do a highlight or a sheer pink.

Thanks for the input. I agree with no rules. I do like to know them though (for some reason).
