I am just finding more and more useful information about eggs and I had to share. Okay so I saw the thread about people consuming large quantities of eggs to make their hair grow so I was like why not try it, I love eggs. So I started eating 6 eggs (not the yolks their disgusting and I don't want to die at 35 i only eat 2 out of the 6 yolks, if i can get it down) every morning. Okay so i've been doing this for like 1.5-2 weeks now and I notice my gut is receeding. So i foolishly think it's due to the 3 30 minute spinning sessions i did 1 week (yeah right cardio never works that fast). Then i think about the 2 coconut capsules i take daily and I was like can't be because i've been taking those forever and have seen no change yet. So i stop thinking about it and i see a magazine in walmart that says drop 15 pounds in 14 days so i get it. Later while i'm reading about how fattier foods are supposed to help you lose weight (i have to read it again to get the particulars) and they do a little blurb on eggs and what not..so i was like oooohh i get the eggs are deflating my gut. so i just thought i would share that with you guys...tonight when i go home i will read it in depth and post exactly what it says.

I find that eating eggs fills me up for longer--thus I snack less on junk food throughout the day.

I have been excerising and eating healthy ever since the new year and have been losing weight steadily, however about 1.5 weeks ago I began eating about 4-5 eggs daily (mostly the egg whites like you and maybe a total of one yolk) and I've noticed that my weight loss has accelerated, I didn't understand it until your post so thanks for this, will definitely keep this up!
Can't wait for the update on the article!

"...the incredible edible egg..."
anyway, yes, it is...in part b/c it's a complete source of protein and it's rich in omega 3? I think? which aids in weight loss...and as a protein it helps keep you fuller longer...I notice the same thing when I up my intake of eggs....and I just do the egg whites w/ one yolk too

Note: I also think this is the food combining thing that was all the rage a few years ago if anyone eversaw it.
Article:
Suzanne Somer's popular weight loss plan couldn't be kinder to diet weary women: You'll eat delicious food until you're full and will never count calories. The key: Protein and fat are eaten together (pro/fat meals) but kept seperate from complex carbs (carb meals). "This food-combining strategy has helped hundreds of women lose at least 25 pounds in the first month!" Somers enthuses. For the fastest weight loss, opt for low-glycemic carbs which help stabilize blood sugar while preventing carb cravings. That's all there is to it!
Diet in a nutshell
1 Enjoy fruit by itself on an empty stomach. Fruit increases stomach acidity, explains Somers. It can disrupt digestion if eaten with other foods, causing gas and bloat.
2 Pair protein and fat meals with "good" veggies-- those low on the glycemic index. Studies show that protein, fat and low glycemic carbs cause virtually no rise in insulin. This keeps blood sugar stable, helping you shed at least 2 pounds weekly
3 Combine whole grain-carbs with good veggies to lose even faster. UCLA scientists report that low-glycemic carbs are so rich in fiber they slow sugar absorption by up to 66% over a 3 hour period. That lets you eat bread and pasta without fat inducing blood sugar surges.
4 Allow three hours between pro/fat and carb meals. A pro/fat meal can stabilize blood sugar and increase metabolic rate for up to 3 hours. Research shows that avaoiding insulin-surging carbs during this time will help you burn up to 33% more fat per month
5 Eat 3 meals plus 2 snacks each day. By never leaving the digestive tract empty for long you can stabilize blood sugar. This helps you eat 100 fewer calories daily.
Eggs have healthy fats
In one study, subjects who ate 2 eggs a day 5 times a week lost 2x as much weight as those who ate a bagel containing the same number of calories. What's more, the egg eaters lost 83% more weight from their abdominal region. The reason: Eggs contain monounsaturated fats, which stimulate release of the appetite-supressing hormone leptin.

Thanks GP--I've been waiting for you to get home and post. I like the part about appetite suppressing. We could all use that from time to time. I guess that explains the ladies who've commented that they don't feel hungry for a while after eating eggs.
OT: INOH, I agree about the baby! (well, babies) I saw that siggy and thought to myself "Gimmie that little munchkin!" (but it's munchkins plural I see) They're so gorgeous.

i noticed that too...whenever i eat 2 scrambled eggs with 1 slice 100% whole wheat honey flax bread, it takes a while for me to get hungry, im talking about way past luch time.Thing is i love the yolk and i eat an orange with it ( so im messing up that eat fruit on an empty stomach rule:))
Ive actually noticed my gut gettiing smaller and i formed a 2-pack...:lachen:, hopefully it'll look more like a 6 pack b4 the summer!
