View Full Version : beautyblender
Anyone ever tried one of these? They are basically using the same technique that Laura Mercier has been using for years (dampening the sponge and stippling the foundation on the face).
A lot of people on MUA use it an love it and have even given up using their "beloved" 187 because of this little pink egg-shaped sponge. I wouldn't say I am makeup application challenged but I may try it and see if it makes more of a difference than what I currently use (use LM's sponge for LM foundation, GA's blender brush to apply LSF and Fluid Sheers.

the beauty blender is my ish. Matter of fact, I just ordered a new one from Cherry Culture. I love the way it looks when I go over my foundation, just before finishing with powder. Now, if push came to shove I could give up my 187 for this, but we ain't pushin' yet:lachen::lachen:

Say word ....:lachen:
Do you use it to apply foundation or perfect it after applying with the 187. Speaking of which ... I just bought a 187 tonight and tried it with my GA LSF ... slamming. I just ordered some La Mer Foundation so I can't wait to try the 187 on that.
Oh ... but back on topic ... so you think it's worth the $40 for 2 bb's and the cleanser?

$40 is a good deal, because usually you get 1 BB and cleanser for around $35. I've heard good things about the LaMer foundaiton (I've only tried it on my hand to feel the texture and consistency, but didn't get it for me since they didn't have a shade for me).
I've used it both to apply the foundation and to finish, expecially around the nose and eyes.

Are you ladies using the beautyblender cleanser as well? If not, what are you using to clean your blender? I have the sonia kushuk version of this item but I dont have a cleanser and I need one. Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

I use the Blending Sponge from Target by Sonia Kashuk, and I love it! It really is amazing. I've only tried it with liquid foundations though.
I haven't tried the Beauty Blender, but they both have the same concept.

I bought the beautyblender kit, so I have the cleanser. It works great. I use it on my makeup brushes too.

I also use the Sonia Kashuk sponge and love it. It was only $9.99 at Target but did not come with cleanser.

I read somewhere that some ladies are using the dr bronners magic soap to clean their makeup brushes and what-not. I might try this since I don't have the special cleanser that comes with the beautyblender.
