Okay ladies,
Let's have a CHALLENGE! Now, this workout looks docile and gentle, but it will kick your butt into shape.
Animata and I are going to do Callanetics 3 days per week and officially check-in on Sundays. You should see very visible results after 20 workouts, so let's give it a go through April 27th. That's 7 weeks or 21 workouts.
Anyone else want to join up?

If you are new to Callanetics, here are some common questions/answers (from Callanetics 10-in-10 book):
Q: Do you have to diet as well as exercise?
A: No. A person who is 10 to 15 pounds overweight can pull in so that his or her clothing is two sizes smaller without shedding a pound. If you do lose 10 pounds it will look like 20.
Q: How often do I have to do Callanetics?
A: One hour twice a week will get spectacular results. Once you have reached your perfect figure, maintance can be reduced to 1 hour a week.
Q: Do I have to start with a whole hour of exercise right at the beginning?
A: No, it is preferable to spread out the first hour over 4 days in 15-minute segments, until the exercises become easy enough for you to continue them for a full hour at a stretch.
Q: Will I still see results if I exercise only 15 minutes a day?
A: Absolutely. The results are as visible as if you did them all at once. It just takes a little longer that way.

Day 1: My butt got kicked on this video. It pains me to see the 80 yr. old woman in the video doing better than my 28 yr. old self. :perplexed:nono:

I'm in. I didn't do it today, but I will step it up. Are you all doing anything other than this video during the week?
I have used it a few times and it hurts every time. I look at the older lady and I am like, dang I will get it soon. I am very flexible, but holding on to the bar/ chair on the floor really kills me.

I believe you're suppose to see visible results after 10 hours/workouts, but I guess with 20 you should see even more.
Everyone should take pictures and/or measurements before starting so you can be sure of your progress.
I'm in. I've been doing the workout 3 times a week and Turbo Jam on my off days for cardio. Tonight will be my 7th hour of Callanetics.

So are you seeing results? I'll have to find my old video and pull it out.

Yep, but I can't honestly say that it's only Callanetics being that I also Turbo Jam on off days. But yes I've very happy with my results thus far incorporating both workouts. My results would probably be more dramatic if I dieted but I don't and simply refuse to. I do try to eat sensible.
I plan on taking measurements again after my 10th workout just to see how well this plan is working out.
Leigh, are you joining the challenge?

Yes, you are supposed to see them in 10, but in the video she shows her student after 19 workouts, so that is why I put that.

Tonight I'm doing my 8th hour.
I've located a local teacher, I'm going to see if I can get some face time with her to improve my form. I don't think that I'm getting the burn on all the exercises like I should.

I'm doing Callanetics 3 times a week. I only want to go to this instructor once or maybe twice just to perfect my form.
Have you started yet? What do you think so far?

I'll join. I alternate now with 10 days of Callanetics and 10 days of T-Tapp.

Updating-I did the Callanetics workout 3x--although I admit I've focused on the first 30 minutes of this video. I'm still trying to master the stomach and leg exercises. This week, I would like to add more of the video to my routine.
As for results, I always feel great after the exercise. Hope to see great results after a couple of months.
BTW, I also workout @3-4 times a week at the gym and I've incorporated a couple of random DVDs (crunch boot camp/B. Blanks/yoga) into my routine to mix it up and give more variety. (I suffer from gym burnout)

I'm officially starting this challenge today. My period prevented me from doing any exercising this week. :ohwell:
