I did a lactic acid peel tonight (30% to start out low and work my way up) and it didn't burn as bad as I thought it would. I could stand the stinging/burning sensation. My face did turn red for a bit and did frost up in certain areas, but it went away and it's subsided. Now, what do I do after this? For those ladies who have done these chemical peels at home, how did you care for your skin afterwards? Did you still continue to use your regular facial cleanser as usual? Also, how many times did you apply lotion to your face? I don't want to screw up the healing process so I could really use some suggestions. Thanks ladies!!!

I do 40% lactic peels at home. So now just apply your moisturizer or any other skin treatments such as any serums, under eye treatments, creams for hyperpigmentation and then your moisturizer.
Yes, I continued to use my normal cleanser
I don't understand the bolded

Sorry if I confused you..........I meant how many times a day do you apply lotion or moisturizer to your face? I'll use my ambi or acne free sunscreen/moisturizer, but I'll apply a little bit of Vit E oil to it to help with soothing. Also, how often do you do the peels at home? I'm so glad you responded. I didn't have a clue as to what I should do next. I wanted to continue using my cleanser as normal (I use Alpha Hydrox's Nourishing Cleanser), but I'm going to hold off on using the AHA Souffle for a couple of days just to see how my skin reacts.
How have the peels been working for you? Thanks again for responding!!

OK, Since you use a cleanser with AHA, I have read that others on the board continue to use their cleansers with AHA while using peels. I don't use AHA, so I couldn't tell you. But I think holding off couldn't hurt, just so you can see how your skin reacts to the LA peel.
For moisturizer, I just apply morning and night. In the AM I apply sunscreen and then a light moisturizer and Emu oil or a heavy moisturizer at night.
I've been doing at home peels for almost 2 years and monthly glycolic at the derms for the same amount of time. I love the results, especially the texture of my skin.
HTH :)

Alrighty then, thanks girlie!! I really appreciate your responses. I emailed the company too and asked them if it was okay if I continue to use my normal cleanser. So I'm awaiting a response from them. For now, I'm going to just observe how my skin reacts to the AHA.

Okay, I got a response from the company about my concern. He emailed me back and told me that it would be okay if I continue to use my AHA cleanser and cream after doing the peel. He told me that the Lactic Acid peel is very mild and safe to use, so continuing to use my regular products will not impede or complicate the healing process. That was good news to know!!
