Hey ladies, I know a lot of you have done the master cleanse. I tried once before but only made it through day 3. I am on day 1 today. I was wondering if anyone thinks I will be able to go lose 12 to 17 pounds or so on the Master Cleanse, if my starting weight is 132?

I am determined to make it through to day 10 this time and then start eating raw (at least 80%). I mainly want free myself of my love handles, and some of my extra thigh and butt baggage. I am trying to get fit so that I can look good for my wedding and so that I can fit into my dress again.

It's possible but you have to be careful not to gain the weight back. If you get off the fast too fast or go back to your old eating habits with no exercise, you'll probably gain at least half of the weight back.

I agree with Keen. I have down the Master Cleanse twice and IMO, it is not a weightloss program. You should do it first and foremost for health reasons (to fast, to cleanse your system, free yourself of cravings). The weightloss naturally occurs with that but it's not the good kind of weight loss (like the kind you get from proper diet and exercise). It usually comes back also (look at Beyonce).

Congrats on your up coming wedding!!!

I didn't do the master cleanse for weight loss (I'm 5'2 and my weight fluctuates from about 98-108 lbs). Anyway, you will lose weight. For some reason, I think the more weight you have to lose, the easier it will be to lose weight. I didn't lose more than 7 pounds when I did it for 10 days, which was good, b/c I was doing it as a cleansing.

However, I think if you do follow this diet, after getting off it, you could incorporate more organic foods into your diet and more lean proteins/salads. I think this will help you keep the weight off.

Also, if you use salad dressings, try to use less and use oil/vinegar based dressings, instead of creamy dressings (i.e. oil and vinegar, oil based caesar as opposed to blue cheese). Drinking A LOT of water is good (and if you can cut soda completely from your diet, you will lose weight very quickly).

Last, try to add flax oil or flax seeds (grounded) into your diet. In addition to helping your weight, it is GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT for your hair (sorry, a little Tony the Tiger moment:lol:)!

I do not drink sodas, and it seems that I have a problem being committed to not chewing. Even when I'm not hungry I feel the need to chew and I need to conquer my cravings. i think I will try to eat raw, I do want to eventually do the Master Cleanse for cleansing purposes (and would love the weight loss too). I think that I will need to wait to finish it though, I'm going to see how far I can go but it seems so difficult with me being around food all of the time.

I let you guys know!

I lost almost 40lbs doing MC. I did 15 days the first time and lost 16lbs, then another 10 days about 2 months later. I just ended my 3rd MC last week. I lost 12lbs during that one too. I didn't gain back any of the weight from my first 2 cleanses. I've gained back 4lbs of the 12lbs I lost during my last cleanse, but it'll be gone soon. My weight rides up and down during the weeks following the cleanse, but it always drops back to my break fast weight.

I agree with others, it's not a weightloss plan, but it sure does help you drop pounds fast. So is it possible? I was for me, but I'm hyper-vigilant with what I eat now. I'm slowly moving toward 70% raw and avoiding sugar, most processed, caffeine and alcohol. MC isn't a weight loss plan, but it certainly can kickstart one. :yep:
