I know some of you guys were interested in Firm tapes. I saw them on sale at Kohl's. Also saw the Windsor pilates tapes at Target...I swear that store has everything!

Hey Carrie. I know. I even buy CD's there. They are cheaper than at Walmart or the Music stores (if you can find what you're looking for).

FYI, you can also borrow workout tapes from your library for a test run before investing your hard-earned money. I've bought tapes and then realize they're not right for me or I just don't like the workout once I get it home. I like a true workout with sweat and everything, not just a lot of aerobic prancing around, so I like to get them from the library first.

I have some of the old The Firm videotapes and on the whole, I find them very challenging and effective but I have one that I absolutely can't stand - too much posing. I haven't tried the new series yet so I'll have to check those out.

You know how at the end of a move or a set, they'll flash their hands in the air or some other move that's designed to look good but is totally ineffective for weight loss.

I have a Firm tape called Not So Tough Aerobics and I just hate it. The parts where they're working with weights is actually a good workout but the aerobics part is just so much prancing around and flash. A few of the older tapes are like that, where the instructor is just really mugging for the camera in her color-coordinated workout gear and NEVER sweats! I don't like tapes like that.

I like a workout that really works! I like kickboxing and Tae-Bo and my husband and I work out on our own sometimes (he's teaching me karate and basic self-defense) and we really work - no flash and no posing.

Robin, I haven't seen any of the old tapes, they sound funny /forums/images/graemlins/rofl.gif. I only have the new tapes, it's like they're all business!!! No time for posing. My legs are suffering today b/c of my workout on legs for the past 2 days.
Taebo was good for me while I was doing it, I'm going to incorporate some of it into my rotation next month. I also do this Crunch fitness aerobics tape, it's really cool, w/Kendall Hogan. Ever heard of it? I am not the most coordinated person but this tape is really easy to follow.

No, I've never heard of it but I plan to rent some new tapes so I can find some I like. After awhile, they get a little boring so I'd like to have enough to rotate. And workouts change so quickly that some of them go out of style and look dated rather fast.

Any other suggestions for some kick-a$$ workout tapes?
