Anyone into vintage clothes?

I have a couple of vintage coats and dresses passed down to me from some great aunts that are from the 40s and 50s and I really like them. I see that some people actually go out and look for vintage clothes, but I've never done that. I would love to have vintage/vintage style clothing, especially for church. I love the whole look that the girl in "The Great Debaters" had, I think that style is really coming back, or really never went away. So for those who have vintage clothes, where did you get them from? Were they handed down or do you actually buy clothes like this that are vintage or vintage-inspired styles?

I love vintage clothes or even clothes with a vintage feel. I am always on the look out for something on Ebay and I often use google to find things too. I just bought 3 dresses from ebay last week. I'm kind of mad because I was going to buy another one and just when I was about to bid, 10 minutes before the auction ended, my internet messed up and I missed out. I guess it wasn't meant to be. :ohwell:

my style tends to gravitate toward the 30s-40s... if i cant find what i want in stores. (new) i will make what i want.

I am. I really like coats and dresses. A few times a month, I'll hit up some vintage or thrift stores. Never know what you can find.

One of my favorite pieces is a leather jacket from the 70's my mother gave me. Its so soft, cut well and just cool. The clothes from the Great Debaters that Juronee wore, were so classy. Especially those hats:blush:

I love everything about back in the day styles style...the hats, the pencil skirts, round toe shoes (many people on here hate those), the frilly blouses...everything!:grin: Anyone know of some online stores that sell items like this?

I wear my great grandma's hats,brooches and her genuine fox shawl with the crazy little tails but feel uncomfortable wearing the vintage items I've purchased from strangers..I have lots of jewelry and a few clothing items but I tend to worry about the essence within so do not wear them{too much TWILIGHT ZONE viewing}, this is the week I'm going through rooms of unused attire to dispose...Ebay..here they come.

I am just now starting to get into vintage clothes. I recently printed out the names and addresses of all the thrift and vintage stores in my area and I plan on going to a few every weekend till I find my favorite. I just love the look of vintage.
