Has anyone used the homemade version of tend skin? I just made the concoction, but I'm still a little hesitant there is a huge amount of alcohol.
Please post responses of your experience.
Thanks,

I have found a few homemade versions on makeupalley. I made one last summer that seemed to work well, but I haven't used it in a while. I think it contained alcohol, aspirin, and witch hazel, but I don't remember exactly. Search the message boards at MUA; you will have several to choose from.

I was hoping that you would post it here. I am almost out of my Tendskin and would like to try a homemade version instead.
Do you mind posting the recipe here?

Here's my recipe. Been using it since june. I also got it from MUA and it works. Doesnt make sense to shell out 20 bucks on the real tendskin.
Recipe:
1) Dissolve 18 tablets of uncoated aspirin in 5.5 oz of 70% rubbing alcohol
2) Dissolve 8 tablets of uncoated aspirin in 2.5 oz of witch hazel
3) Combine the rubbing alcohol and witch hazel solutions.
Some settling of aspirin may occur, just shake it well before you use it. Apply once a day.

I haven't tried the homemade version, but Tendskin has been a MIRACLE product for me!!! Hopefully, the homemade version gives the same results.

Thanks Ladies,
This has worked out great for me!! I was thinking of getting laser hair removal, but using Nair and this solution has changed my mind. Now to get rid of hyperpigmentation:wallbash:. Do you all think a glycolic peel is safe?
All opinions welcome.

Questions????
How long does the homemade solution last?
Are you apply with a cotton ball or is it like a spritz?
Do you apply after you have shaved?

I would like to know this also.
ETA: I found how to use it on the Tend Skin website.
Method Of Application:
TEND SKINĀ® Liquid should be applied with a quilted cotton square. Rinse hands after use. The product may be rubbed on, thus acting as a cleaner. It also acts as an astringent for oily skin. NOTE: You may find that TEND SKINĀ® Liquid causes your hands to "peel". 'The product has exfoliant properties; if you have rough, scaly hands. This effect is beneficial. Rinse hands thoroughly if this effect is not desired.
NOTE: In all cases of use, if minor tingling is felt, apply 20-30 minutes after hair removal.

1. The one from my recipe was enough to fill that dessert essence throroughly clean bottle and ive used 3/4 of it.
2. This is the bottle. http://www.desertessence.com/images/personalcare/facewash.jpg I use a tiny bit with a cotton ball.
3. Yep, apply after shaving.

Uh,, does it help with the appearance down there. Anyone who has tried the actual stuff or the homemade, was it worth it?

From personal experience, yes it does:yep:, it lightens the area that has been darkened by shaving and such.

I have a question...Is TS okay to use under the arm too? I see that yall say that it lightens the skin, for some odd reason I realize that my underarms are getting dark..is that from shaving you think?
