Hello ladies:

I did a search and didn't really find the answer to my question.

How do you get rid of undereye circles?

I am blessed to have no cellulite, never had acne, never wore braces (naturally straight, white teeth), only a few stretchmarks (barely noticeable).

However, I have dark undereye circles. I really want to get rid of them, and I am trying to avoid going to a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, but I fear that laser or some type of prescription is my only hope!

CocoB, I shared eye exercises you could do that will thicken the skin under the eyes so it's not so transparent that blood vessels show through. The exercises also help bring oxygen to the area and flush out toxins that I sometimes suspect may be causing the problem too. I'll see if I can find the thread in which I shared this. That's the only thing I credit with my success at keeping dark circles at bay because apart from the exercises, I don't do anything special besides applying Vaseline under the eyes and wearing sunscreen over it. And because when I wasn't doing the exercises regularly, I could've sworn I had dark circles; and now I don't seem to see them (http://images28.fotki.com/v1033/photos/3/31573/2988620/September2007-vi.jpg).

Coco, my dark circles are bad. I've had them since I was a baby. I've done soem research and this is what i've read that can trigger them

not drinking enough water
lack of sleep
iron deficiency
genetics
and lack of circulation

How is your diet? how is your water intake?

Also, eliminate sugar, alcohol and caffeine from your diet. These can also cause undereye circles.

Constipation can cause dark, puffy eyes.

You also need to up your intake of Vitamin K. Persistent dark circles are caused by broken capillaries.

Don't rub your eyes, only dab.

If you have allergies, get them checked and treated.

If you have hereditary dark eyes, then you need to wear sunblock in those areas.

I use Vita-K under eye gel with Vitamin K. It has worked wonders for me. You may want to give it a try before you do anything more drastic.

Sorry, Ladies, I forgot I was supposed to be returning with a link to the thread where I shared eye exercises. Here you go (it's towards the bottom of the page):

Also the exercise described on this page (http://www.shapeyourface.com/exercise_one.htm) looks very easy but don't take it lightly. Proper form is very important. Also it is important to keep the rest of your face relaxed (so no scrunching) but contract the muscle as described. Initially you may not feel anything but as your muscle tone improves, you'll start to feel/see a difference.
