Good Dermatologist NYC

Hi...I'm trying to find a good dermatologist in the NYC area..I am hoping to find someone in a hospital so that I am able to use medicaid. I was thinking about going to NY cornell/preprytrarian (*spelling error). Also if anyone has a reccomendation for a Primary Doctor I would really appreciate it. I've been to so many awful doctors. Its hard to find a good one. p.s. if u have a doctor u love whether its a dermatologist , gyn, etc ..can u list there name,location and numbers ..t.i.a. -Melissa

I see you're from brooklyn, so am I. I have an appointment with a derm today in brooklyn. My cousin told me she is pretty good. What she does is that she runs a blood test on you before prescribing any treatments. I think that is what most doctors should do, since acne is normally internal she wants to get down to the nitty gritty. My appointment is in a few hours, If i like her I will give you her contact info. I don't want to recommend anyone that I haven't seen myself. I will Pm you, Today. Also she precsribed my cousin some pills and she has no new bumps for weeks. :yep:

I too am looking for a Gyn, and medical doctor any tips will be appreciated. So many doctors are faulty these days.

She works w/ a next female doctor, Dr. King (reachable at same number)

I haven't seen them yet, but I am scheduled for Dr. King on the 19th. I'll give an update.


I saw a doctor Dr. Strachan (pronounced strawn)
she has a website. i thought because she was a sista w/ natural hair that she'd be THE doctor for me.
i was wrong, she was surly and inept. I suggest you check out who u go to thoroughly.

Best GYN in the world is Laurie..718-793-1943, she is in queens but is worth the travel... if close to the Jackie Robinson its a 13 min drive.:grin:

Endo - Susan Thys-Jacobs - No longer takes insurance :ohwell: (except medicaid) but she is really good so I continue to see her 212.506.0246 on 57th street in manhattan

Update: I went to the derm and she did as any other derms would do prescribed me some tazorac and pills.:ohwell: The doctor name is Dr. Amy Batterman @ Beth Isreal Medical center. 3131 Kings High way rm D7 718
377 3740. I plan on folowing her regime strictly and doc my progress, stay tuned......:grin:

she is aa, alot of celebs go to her but she takes my insurance.

Fula- what insuarance do you have within medicaid? I need an endocrinologist but the Chickkering I am currently paying over 2G a year for does not allow me to see one until next year.

I don't have medicaid but I know those are the only patients she still takes with insurance. I have Aetna PPO so I have to pay out of pocket

Dr. Anna Rhee on W. 56th street (by Columbus Circle) is awesome. Im living in Texas but she's the only person I trust. Great Manner- speaks to you like you are intelligent. Is direct. You;ll like her and she accepts most insurance. I cant remember her # at this time of night but you can cal information and get her. Im sleepy or Id give you the name of my dermatologist who is on 57th street. Don't worry tomorrow I'll be bright eyed and bushy tailed and be more coherent
