Several times this week I've come across acquaintances who are sold on this mini trampoline... :look: I'm considering adding one to my workout arsenal.

Rebounding provides an increased G-force (gravitation load), which strengthens the musculoskeletal systems. 2.Rebounding protects the joints from chronic fatigue and impact delivered by exercising on hard surfaces. 3. Rebounding helps manage body composition and improves muscle-to-fat ratio. 4. Rebounding aids lymphatic circulation by improving the millions of one-way valves in the lymphatic system. 5. Rebounding circulates more oxygen to the tissues. 6.Rebounding establishes a better equilibrium between the oxygen required by the tissues and the oxygen made available. 7. Rebounding increases capacity for respiration. 8. Rebounding tends to reduce the height to which the arterial pressures rise during exertion. 9. Rebounding lessens the time during which blood pressures rise during exertion. 10. Rebounding assists in the rehabilitation of a heart problem. 11. Rebounding increases the functional activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells. 12. Rebounding improves resting metabolic rate so that more calories are burned for hours after exercise. 13. Rebounding causes the muscles to perform work in moving fluids through the body to lighten the heart's load. 14. Rebounding decreases the volume of blood pooling in the veins of the cardiovascular system preventing chronic oedema. 15. Rebounding encourages collateral circulation by increasing the capillary count in the muscles and decreasing the distance between capillaries and the target cells. 16. Rebounding strengthens the heart and other muscles so that they work more efficiently. 17. Rebounding allows resting heart beat to beat less often. 18. Rebounding lowers circulating cholesterol and triglyceride levels. 19. Rebounding lowers low-intensity lipoprotein (bad) in the blood and increases. 20. Rebounding promotes tissue repair. 21. Rebounding for longer than 20 minutes at a moderate intensity increases the mitochondria (cell engine) count within muscle cells, essential for endurance. 22. Rebounding adds to the alkaline reserve of the body, which may be of significance in an emergency requiring prolonged effort. 23. Rebounding improves coordination between the proprioceptors in the joints, the transmission of nerve impulses to and from the brain, transmission of nerve impulses and responsiveness of the muscle tissue.

I love my rebounder and would not trade that work out for any other. It just makes me feel so much better(health wise). Even when I come in from the cold weather and if I feel like I am trying to catch a cold, I rebound and get the lymphatic system going and whatever else they say it does and I am fine after that.

Later,

KD

I have one too. I just need to get on it more often.

Any rebounder workout videos to speak of? The one rebounder video I have is kind of cheesy and I don't feel like I'm getting a decent workout with it.

I like my rebounder...I use it while watching television.

Sometimes I add free weights, it is a good workout and pretty low impact :)

I am interested in getting a rebounder as well...it seems like a great workout from the reasearch I've done..:yep:

Is everyone buying the popular Needak rebounder or are you using other brands? Where are you purchasing them?

Thanks

Which one did you get Jfemme?

I am currently using this to get back into shape to run a 1/2 marathon in the fall. SAVES MY KNEES FOR SURE.

I love my rebounder. As soon as I get a house I want a big one for my backyard since I love it so much. I got mine from K-mart for $19. I've had it for a year and it is still good as new. I dont know the brand but its a generic one. They also had some at Walmart in the fitness section.

I also heard that the rebounder helps get rid of cellulite. This is why I use it!

WOW..$19...that's so cheap! I know the popular Needak brand costs $200+ ....from the research I've done, they urge you to buy the Needak b/c they claim it's high quality and that the generic versions are dagerous b/c they could snap or something...

But I find it interesting that you've had your $19 one for a year w/ no problems.....I would love to pay $19 but I'm kind of scared....hmmmm...have I been bamboozeled from good marketing?I wonder....

Does yours come w/ the stability bar?

Does it fold and fit under your bed?

What brand is it?

I have a much more expensive one it came with the stability bar...I never use the stability bar though, I really don't get why it is necessary.:ohwell:

I had a cheaper one in the past, the only difference that I noticed is that the more expensive one seems to have more springs.

I would definitely get the cheaper one and IMO the stability bar is not necessary.

This is the brand that I have, I enjoy it but I could have paid a lot less for a generic brand :)

Hey NappyRina

$200:blush:!! Good Lawd that's alot of money!lol

Mines does not have a stability bar and it does not easily fold(You have to take it down).

IMO, I would not waste $200 on a rebounder if those are the only extras. You will most likely never need the stability bar and the thing is not big enough to worry about space. You might want to get a cheap one to see how often you will use it and if you like it before spending $200.

Edit: Here is a link to the one I got from Kmart. The brand is Spartan and it has great reviews. Good luck on your purchase!

Hey, ladies

I visited out two sporting goods store today..found several brands on sale, none of which I had ever heard of before...:ohwell:

They were very hard, and I prefer something with some bounce..:bouncegre:bouncegre

I've might this one from HSN...:yep:

I think they are supposed to be hard, you should not be bouncing very high. It is different from an outdoor trampoline.

I think the explanation is on this website video
http://www.urbanrebounding.com/

"your feet barely leave the surface...you don't bounce high, you bounce strong"

I don't think they are suppose to be hard.. that is the whole point; something to rebound against instead of the hard ground. I have the urban rebounder and it has a great bounce. The harder the mat surface, the less resilient... the more chance of injury.. so be careful.

Thanks ladies!

For those that have purchased the more expensive versions, I have a few questions:

Did you experience any tears or a need to get replacement parts?

Does it bounce as good as it did when you first bought it?

I am interested in either the Needak, Urban or ReboundAIR .. the Cellerciser is a bit too expensive for me.....From what I have read in most books, they highly recommend the Needak brand, but that doesn't meanthat it's better neccesarily...... I am torn b/c when I went to the ReboundAIR site, they did side by side comparisons of their version and the Urban & Needak versions...I don't know!

Does anyone own the ReboundAIR? If so, what has been your experience?

I really want to purchase a quality rebounder but I do not want to make a mistake.....:spinning:
