I didn't know if you ladies had seen this. You gotta see this! You pay big time bucks to stay in a 5 star hotel, and the drinking glasses in your room could give you a disease!

I have seen this and I remember a 20/20 special? on the topic. I don't like staying in hotels. I bring bleach, sheets, towels, plastic single use cups to a hotel if I have to stay in one :nono:

Well, you've been more enlightened than I have. It boggles my mind that you can't even PAY for cleanliness anymore.

I saw that 20/20 special as well.... Beyond disgusting. Another point to add to the hotel travel list.

Yep, that combined with the fact that I used to work for the state health dept. The things I have seen, folks are just nasty :nono:

I use to work at a hotel part-time:
Remove the bedspread/comforter immediately- housekeeping do not wash them, they just spray them with a aresol disinfectant, unles there are visable stains on them.
Dont use the bathtub and use flipflops in the shower.
Check the washcloths for pubic hairs - they stick even after being in the laundry.
Be cautious if the hotel is sold out and they check or call to see if a dayrate (a person that used the room for a couple of hours that day, all hotel's offer day-rates, not the same as pay by hour) is available, they make the bed (if the person even used it) and straighten up, then give you the dirty room.
Dont even think about using the pillows
Dont walk around the room barefoot - I've seen where guest have peed on the carpet for whatever reason and sneak pets in the go on the carpet too.
Bed on the watch for Bed bugs, fleas, mice
And this was a decent hotel

I always bring clorox wipes and comet. My mom NEVER trusted the bathrooms to be clean in the hotel.
She used to spray the sheets with lysol too.:lachen:
I need to take further measures, because I always trusted the glassware.:nono:

This was exactly my thought as well. I wonder if it's any better in Europe?
