okay, so i didn't want to tell anyone on the forum about this because people always tell me that i'm always looking for the next best thing. but about 2 weeks ago, i was at the health store and i saw this tea called kombucha tea. it said that it would burn body fat, help maintain a healthy liver, boost the immune system and improve metaboslism. okay guys, i am not s***ing you, i have lost 7 pounds! i'm jumping all over the place, i'm not hungry and i feel so good. it's $4 a bottle so i have started making my own at home. and the best thing about this tea? it grows hair! did i mention that i had b-vitamins? i felt like i had to share this info with my beautiful sisters on the board!

I've heard that tea was GREAT for hair growth. I couldn't find it anywhere. I was wondering how it tastes.

Thanks for sharing ... Dorothy ...

I've used Kombucha tea years ago...back when there was this craze going on about its benefits.. It did provide increased energy for me...but I did not stick with it long enough to realize the other stated claims.
Now , 'Yerba Mate ' and I have a longer relationship...and that tea is definitely off the hook...I drink it daily ..for energy , plus the antioxidant boost and immune protection.
I've noticed in this last month that its effected my appetite as well.. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif( no problem ) ....I'm loving that effect...I'm also using it to ween myself off coffee.... http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

What brands are you using Dorothy ?

CAN YOU SAY ABOSLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! I TRY TO DRINK THIS TEA EVERYDAY, BUT HERE'S ANOTHER GREAT REASON TO KEEP DRINKING! I'M ALWAYS TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT AND THIS TEA IS TERRIFIC!!! I DRINK THE YOGI TEA HEALING FORMULA BRAND, AND I DO BELIEVE THAT IT HAS ASSISTED IN ENERGY PRODUCTION AS WELL AS IMMUNE SYSTEM SUPPORT. I'VE BEEN AROUND A WHOLE BUNCH OF KIDS WITH THE COLD AND FLU AND HAVE YET TO FEEL BAD AT ALL. PLEASE TRY THIS TEA. EVEN THOUGH I DON'T KNOW ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS (LET'S HOPE), IT SEEMS TO BE A TERRIFIC PRODUCT!!!

I just looked up this tea on the interenet and came up with some disturbing information. Enough to make me pass. I haven;t done enough research on it yet to come to any final conclusions, but I just wanted to share some info I pulled up on it. Be careful Kombucha Tea (http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/ETO_5_3X_Kombucha_Tea.asp?sitearea=ETO&viewmode=pr int)

hey guys! sorry for taking so long to respond, film production is a b****. okay so to answer some of the questions...

happyyogi- I like the way the tea tastes. Although I can't quite describe it, it really doesn't bother me. I make my own because I have a culture but like I said, you can purchase it at erewhon or whole foods. If your just starting, I would recommend you start off small with 8 ounces.

Good Luck!
Dorothy

wow http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif! Those facts are scary. Especially those women who were taken to the hospital http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Some things are usually too good to be true. I'll stick to good old-fashioned exercise.

I never plan to take anything that causes me to lose weight. Anything like that is affecting some vital part of your body and that causes me concern.

I am glad she posted about the tea but I wasn't not going to drink it because of the weight loss.

I don't know if Green Tea helps you lose weight but it is tasty and it is much better for me than drinks.

It's important to remember that the link mentioned is from the American Cancer Society. They do NOT want anyone getting cured by such teas as Kombucha Tea. I'm not trying to be harsh but I've learned that organizations such as the American Cancer Society totally depend on cancer always being there and will discredit anything that may hint at being a cure. They are a multi - billion dollar industry.

I haven't tried this tea yet but I know friends who have, with successful results. A lot of people who learned about this tea have been diagnosed with cancer and have said it really helps them in many ways.

I thought the people died of heart attacks and not cancer.
