Does any one use more than one moisturiser? to moisturise dry skin.

I use multiple moisturizers and I'm still dry as hell

I currently use amlactin followed by Palmer's cocoa butter. It's definitely better on my skin than most moisturizers I've tried, but I'm still dry and itchy by the end of the day :ohwell:

There are a couple of suggestions I can give. One is try olive or coconut oil instead of lotions. I've been doing this for years and my body really loves it. There are other oils you can use so experiment and see what your body likes. And the second try not to take hot showers in the winter time. The hot water dries the skin. I can't hang with the second one b/c I love, love, love, love hot showers.

HTH!

I don't know if this would be considered two lotions, but I've used the bath lotion (or whatever you call it) that you apply in the shower to moist skin then rinse off then followed that with a lotion after drying my skin; or baby oil on moist skin then followed with a lotion when my skin was dry. For my feet, I tend to rub Vaseline between my palms then add lotion and rub palms again till I get a creamy consistency before applying. That mix seems to keep my feet from getting dry more than anything else. Sometimes I've used that for my lower legs too and my knees and my elbows and my hands.

But as long as I moisturize my skin soon after a shower, I seem to do OK. Also using a soap like Dove or Olive Oil soap (https://www.marseillesoap.com/) seems to prevent my skin from being too dry. Goat milk is supposed to be a great moisturizer too. I know they make soaps and lotions with it. I'll see if I can remember which ones I've tried.

Drink lots of water too and take some healthy oils (cod liver, flaxseed)

I mix Oil of Olay and Vitamin E oil together and apply to my face and use Palmers lotions mixed with vitamin E oil or I use Avon Skin So Soft Bath oil and Lotion.

After I shower, I coat my body in olive oil while I am still wet. I then wrap myself in a sheet and go to bed...greasy and all.

Doing this three times a week has fixed my dry skin. I moisturize every morning before putting on my clothes. I use either Keri Lotion. I also put on a layer of sunscreen. Sunscreens tend to be really emollient so it helps my skin stay moist throughout the day
