I've paid a lot of money for brows in the past, but I find if you find a good threader you have nice brows for ten bucks (that includes tip).

However, I did see the Anastasia setup in Nordstrom's the other day and she was booked!

Well does anybody have any suggestions for a eyebrow specialist?

I watched her service the client before me and she also was highly recommended, so I was excited .. :ohwell:

I was shocked when I sat upright in that chair. I blinked. Blinked again, and was aghast.. :nono:

I told her so....to which she replied, that she was in a hurry...blah..blah... gave me some type of voucher to come back...have it redone..

No, sis that was not happening...:nono:

And, yes I was teary for a spell... everytime I caught a look at my brows I winced, anew...

horrible...:nono:

I did it, and I liked mine. :)

A black chick did them, maybe that helped! This was at the Sephora in Times Square in NYC.

Where do you go to get your eye brows threaded?

I'm not a good candidate coz with my sparse brows, I'll be damned if I'ma let anyone approach them with a hair removing device/mechanism. But if I had eyebrows worth working on, I would've said without hesitation that yes, I'd do it. But JFemme has me freaked out.

Did Anastasia herself do them? As for the excuse that she was in a hurry??? :nono: This is how people beg for a good *** whoopin'! What a lame excuse! If you can't be efficient and precise when working fast then slow the heck down! Oooh..chile!

I think I will stick to doing them myself. I haven't yet been as mad with myself as I'd have been if I'd been in your shoes, JFemme. So sorry you had that experience.

(I "love" how people think you will go back after they screwed up for another treatment. Like when you return something you don't like to a store and they give you a gift voucher. Huh???)

I need to do my brows every 3 weeks... 30 plus tip and tax would run about $650 a year... I'm not hooking Anastasia up like that.

I went with a coworker for her appointment.

IMO, it was nothing SPECIAL! :ohwell: She booked it because she saw it in Oprah and ended up buyinh all of the extra "stuff".

No, I wouldn't do it. :nono:

Actually, I'd rather do my own eyebrows and I'm pretty good at it. I've had mistakes made by professionals on my brows before and I decided to be my own expert. Eyebrows are way too important a feature on the face--how they are shaped can make or break one's appearance.

I have been waxing, threading, razoring and plucking my brows since I was 14 years old.

If you look in my album, anytime my brows looked jacked and too thin, it's because someone else touched them. I do my brows (plucking and razoring) better than ANYONE at any cost.

Would I try the brow lady, maybe, but it will be when thin brows are back in style. Right now, no way.

Threaders and their price range has been a godsend. Also, I learn to be very vocal about what I want and don't want. They can't mess up too much after that.

 Good point! A girl can only wish. But you know, the dummy I am, the minute I saw her name I'd line up thinking she'd be doing it but if it turned out not to be her, I'd ack a fool and jump off that chair like it was on fire.

I tend to only like the people I expect to work on me to be the ones working on me. I remember whenever I used to make an appointment with a hair stylist recommended to me, I'd make a fuss until only she touched my hair. I remember one time when several stylists had to sit me down to reassure me that hair washing is done by just anyone and that it doesn't mean my choice stylist won't work on me for the real thing. *Nonie blinking and slowing down her breathing :look:*: "OK, den."

Last week I went to a lady down in Miami that was trained by Anastasia. I paid $35 and I wasn't impressed.

The only reason I may go back to her in a month or so is because I want the shape to be absolutely perfect for my face. Then once I know what it is supposed to look like at its finest I will venture off to a threader for maintenance.
