I gave up beef(yuck--hate it, even hamburger), processed meats, poultry and pork once before for 9 months and i'm doing it again--whooohooooo http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif(keeping my fish though http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/rofl.gif) This time for good though. i realize how much i think about meat while i'm eating it and how i always get bean curd with vegatables or somthing like that anyway whenever i go out so i'm making the switch. I'm sneaking more of my Morningstar items into the fridge--hubby hasn't noticed so far http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/sekret.gif and the same with my milk. i switched back to soy from 2 percent. Honestly i just got tired of feeling yucked out thinking about what i was actually eating and drinking all the time http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/look.gif it started to gross me out pretty much, so hopelfully things will go good this time. Oh the last time i switched back was because of an overbearing boyfriend (me being young and dumb) but i have a hubby now and he knows i don't play that stuff http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif any good dinner ideas for tofu are appreciated---thanks----jainygirl http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I know exactly how you feel about eating meat. I have had a love/hate relationship with meat for years. Now like you I am gonna cut it all out. If you ever get the urge to eat meat again here's a little tip; take a trip to a farm, the site of those animals are gross enough, imagine them on your plate. Good luck!

hahahaha Jainygirl! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/rofl.gif I just told my brother about the chicken that is out now in stores; they are genetically altered to be featherless to "reduce waste." After I told him that, he didn't want to eat the Popeyes chicken that was on his plate. The only meat he eats now is fish.

As for me, I ate that Popeyes Chicken. I love me some featherless chicken. And I also love how they feed cows to cows (they finely chop up the cows and put them in the grain they feed to other animals). Yum Yum Yum. I eat them, so u won't have to!

Good luck sweetie!

Today I decided to start a raw food diet. I noticed I don't cook anyway, and I trying to stop eating fast foods. I love fruit so I just need to add the veggies and nuts. I agree with you on the meat, anytime I eat or see I think how bad it is for me. I gave up relaxers cause they were bad, now its time to add the meat.

That's really good Lulu http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif the only reason i did it cold turkey (pardon the pun http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) is because i was just thinking about "the meat" --ughhhh too much, it was ridiculous i couldn't take a bite without seeing peta-esque images in my mind. It's been so far so good. my husband wanted to know why i would choose the week of Thanksgiving to do such a thing, and i told him that it didn't even matter because i would have felt bad anyway if i ate it so at least i'm not feeling gross.

Shinka that is so good about the raw food diet sounds like your body will start feeling good right away http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif like right now my body feels like it's screaming "thank you" to me. you will definitely notice a difference in your energy levels and even if you are active by nature you will notice even more energy since you arent eating sat fats and the like---jainygirl

I gave up meat long ago with the exception of salmon a couple of years ago (although I may stop that too again). I think these days there are so many alternatives for people who have difficulty transitioning. Boca burgers now appear in many restaurants (even Denny's), besides in grocery stores and now there are Boca sausages, all kinds of lunch "meat", "hotdogs", almost anything one could want - made out of soy products.

I know, I think about the meat too, the problem is I come from a long line of meat eaters, and I honestly don't know how to go about fixing meals with no meat in them

I got some good stuff from the store, some veggie pockets and soy burgers...but I think all the meat at once may be too much for me...just red meat and seafood for now http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Red meat for me was not difficult to give up. Captain D's fish and pepperoni pizza are my problems!! I see now that becoming vegetarian is a lifestyle that won't happen over night.

I come from a long line of meat eaters and then I married one. It's soooooooo hard to cook dinner and not eat a piece of chicken, steak, pork chop or fish. I have resorted to cutting back my portions. I hope to at least delete beef.
