I'm going to try really hard, but I LOVE candy yams, mac & cheese, sweet potato pie.
Is anyone going to stick it out on Turkey day?

Are you challenging us to Low carb it on Thanksgiving day? I don't know if I can give up the stuffing and mashed pototaes. I will live vicarously through you on T-day.

Oh no...I wouldn't dare make that challenge...I want to eat low-carb but I don't see that happening...I'm a carb addict and I WILL get my carbs on on Turkey day.
I just want to know who will stick it out, or has stuck it out in the past, or if anyone has any suggestions.

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif (raising my hand) My plan is to have turkey and veggies, whole wheat bread and for desert a fresh mango. I'm not going to sabotage my diet for one day http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif Not as hard as I've been working for the past few months. I am going to eat to live, not live to eat (on thanksgiving) a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips (on thanksgiving) and lastly Thanksgiving dinner lasts for an hour, I have to live in my skin 24 hours a day. To me, it's not worth it. I bought myself a very cute outfit to wear on Thanksgiving so I'll be too cute to be pigging out http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Thanksgiving shouldn't be about the food anyway. I am going to concentrate on enjoying the company of my family and friends http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That way I can enjoy my hips, thighs and belly regions http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

You're a strong girl, Caramela...I keep thinking "one day won't kill me".
However, I better not cheat. My bestfriend passed the NY State bar (first try) and his mother is throwing him a party on Friday. On Saturday I'm going to a wedding. Cheating on Thursday can lead to a whole weekend of pigging out.

Those cliches sound good Caramela, but they won't work with me. Like caralexis, I'm determined to use portion control as well. I reward myself once a week usually on Sundays so I just plan to switch it to Thursday.
I've been literally measuring my foods now so I almost know how to measure 1 serving of something just by looking at it. I'm planning to try a serving of things I like even up to desserts. Trust me, I won't destroy my eating because I'm eating with some of the people at my church since I'm not going home and no offense, but most of the younger mothers (like my age) that are bringing dishes can NOT cook. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif I know the stuffing will be good because I'm making that.
I will be working part of Turkey day just to pull in some double time $$$, so I'll probably come to work, do a few miles on the elliptical in the gym, shower and go to my desk, work a couple of hours and leave, go home, sleep, then get up in time for dinner with everyone.

I think i am going to stick to my plan of not eating Potatoes. I can eat sweet potatoes, just not white potatoes. Since i can't (well, really won't) eat corn, i'm gonna miss that cornbread!!! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry3.gif
But i'm eating everything else, including *gasp* Simple Sugars!!!

I think I'll forgo the stuffing, mashed potatoes, and corn bread. I won't be missing the yams and desserts...I'll just eat a lot less than normal.

Actually, I have been eating less food anyway so T-day won't hurt me. I tend to fill up faster on smaller amounts of food.
