I guess I'll just get this one from Old Navy and take it to a tailor and have buttons put on it (can't stand the ones that are on it). But you know how it is when you want one exactly like the one in the picture......I have been looking all over the net for that coat and had made up in my mind that I was going to buy it not matter how much it cost. I just dislike settling, and that's what I'm doing with this coat. Oh well. :sad:

I've seen so many cropped pea coats out this season, I'm almost certain you can find one you really like without having to update the buttons. Never settle. Unfortunately, the cropped pea coat at J.Crew sold out really quickly. I had intentions of buying it in black. I believe it also came in a bright gold and red.

Yeah I was going to suggest jcrew as well. They had a beautiful yellow cropped peacoat, but it's not on the website anymore. Maybe try the store.

I found the coat!!! It's a part of the "Jessica Simpson Collection" http://jessicasimpsoncollection.com/. Trouble is none of the stores listed on her site have any of the clothes. She had a fashion show on the View yesterday and the coat was there. Why would they advertise on national tv and not have the clothes ready for consumers to buy? I don't get it.

I did find a longer wool coat from her collection. I bought this one. I needed a new one anyway. I guess I'll keep looking out for the cropped peacoat and I won't have to settle. Thanks ladies for all your suggestions.

Glad you found the peacoat! That coat costs $200 and it isn't even 100% wool . . . it's wool and nylon . . . come on Jess.

I got one from the Gap as they were 40% off this week. I wish I was able to find the wool in red but, unfortunately I don't wear a small nor do I wear an xs. I like to have medium coats.

I got a grey one for like $58.68 with six buttons on it. I checked oldnavy.com but, they aren't even showing it any more. My guess is it sold out.

I bought that coat today but in navy. I actually like the buttons. I am hesitant to question the quality of the coat. If I lose the silly buttons I will have some normal ones put on. If it wasn't 50% off it would have stayed in the store.
