it's now being monitored because of speculation of contribution to/causing heart disease. i know a co-worker of mine had to stop following it after a month as ordered by her doc because it caused multiple problems. please be careful ladies.

Well did ur co-worker have any pre-existing medical conditions? The Atkins diet isnt for everybody especially diabetics, and people with high cholersterol or blood pressure problems.

no pre existing medical problems, and she'd done all the research prior to starting it. it's definitely not for everyone. the reports regarding the diet being linked to heart disease has been on the news for two days now on at least two different news broadcasts here in new york. how true they are, who knows, but all atkins products are now being monitored. so i say again, please be careful and you may even want to consult with your doctor before starting and throughout your diet journey.

ebony...i'mnot surprised the food in the atkins is all stuff that raises your cholesterol and will furr your arteries...its all high fat food.
i'm very sceptical...i wouldnt go on it.

I am not on Atkins but I don't think there is anything healthy about eating high fatty food. What works for some won't work for all.

I think a lot of people think Atkins means "eat all the fat you want and loose weight". I still try to eat lower fat options, such as chicken and fish.

Everything in moderation.

I second what she says. Thanks for giving us a head's up. I try to eat more vegetables than meat while following atkins.

i third that i eat mostly chicken fish and salads i still watch the amount of fat i take in
